Maharishi Valmiki, since he wrote down the story and also had a very major role in Uttar Kand. While Maharishi Vasishta also had a role, he mostly appeared in the Bal Kand and Ayodhya Kand in a few scenes. Valmikiji on the other hand supported Sita Mata during her toughest time.
Valmiki Ramayana or Ramcharitmanas

Hmmm a real tough question...as both Ramayana and Ramcharitmanas have attained great importance in the lives of the Hindu

Well in the case i will choose Valmiki Ramayan...

Valmiki Ramayana is indeed the original version of the story of Rama. He himself has seen what actually happenned and has written it. It goes into great detail about Sita being sent to forest by Rama, birth of lava and Kusha etc
SO I THINK VALMIKI RAMAYANA IS CONSIDERED AS STANDARD REFERENCE FOR ANY ISSUES REGERDING RAMAYANA.

Instead Tulsidasji Has expressed his own feelings abt his devotion to lord Rama. and therefore has named it Rama-charit-manasa.
But also we cant suspect its authenticity as it is being read by most of the people and it is also said that Hanumanji too was sitting with tulsidas while he wrote the book and Hanumaji himself has dictated the complete story to him.

My Question (I know it will be hard to answer it 😉)
AS RAMAYAN OR RS RAMAYAN ????

Yes dear, it is a hard question indeed, but I choose RS Ramayan because AS Ramayan had more flaws, like in Kishkindha Kand, they sometimes made the characters of Ram and Sita too angry and restless in a few scenes, which I did not really like. Also, the secondary actors were chosen better in RS Ramayan, whereas in AS Ramayan some of the actors were not suitable for the roles...Gurmeet and Debina were perfect as Ram and Sita of course, but I did not like Vijay Bhatia and Ankita Arora as Bharat and Lakshman too much, through they were not horrible. The actor chosen for Ravan was the major negative point though, because Akhilendra Mishra really set my nerves on edge whereas Arvind Trivedi (Ravan of RS Ramayan) was a very dignified actor. I hated all the Ravan scenes in AS Ramayan, whereas the Ravan scenes in RS Ramayan taught me lessons and were also inspirational in some ways.
So yeah, I loved Ram, Sita, Hanuman, Shatrughan, the Rajmatas, Dashrath, and basically everyone else except Ravan, Mandodari, and Indrajit from new Ramayan, and there were scenes when even the actors who played Bharat and Shatrughan were not that bad. Had the Rakshaskul actors been bettern chosen (Vibhishan and Kumbhakarn not included, since I liked them), and had some negative scenes in Kishkindha Kand not taken place (like Sita slapping the rakshasis and Ram getting restless and frustrated because of separation from Sita) not taken place, then it would have been a hard choice between AS Ramayan and RS Ramayan, but because of these negative points, i have to choose RS Ramayan. I mostly watch AS Ramayan for Gurmeet and Debina anyway.😆 I also loved Vikram Sharma as Hanuman a lot.
And I agree with your answer. I feel that Ramcharitmanas was very beautiful, but I like Valmiki Ramayan more because the characters of Ram and Sita seem more human and relatable than they do in RCM. In RCM, Sita sometimes seems a bit too weak and weepy, whereas in Valmiki Ramayan she is portrayed to be stronger and more like the avatar of Lakshmi Ma, who is Shakti Swaroopini. In VR she is more of central character equal to Lord Ram, whereas in RCM, she is secondary to Ram because it focuses more on Ram than VR does.
My question: ArHi or Sarun
Let's not ask questions that compare the old and new Ramayan guys, as many here are fans of both shows and it's not fair to choose one.😳

OMG, how could I forget Shurpanakha? Yeah, she and Ravan were both a big JOKE.🤣
I haven't read the entire Valmiki Ramayan, but I have it at home and I read the abridged version, so I know the character sketches a bit, though not nearly enough as the others in the mythological masti forum.
My answer: Laptop
