The show still had stories to tell...they needed a good creative team consisting of people who had imagination and could translate that into words and dialogues....who could write a screenplay based on a straight line and not circles. Screenplay is the backbone of any drama and if the backbone is not strong, the drama will crumble....thats what happened in CB.They also needed a good director who could translate the word and dialogues into scenes and help the actors in projecting the writers thoughts as emotions. The actors were already there, what was lacking was the beginning and the middle. They also needed a good editor who would then have put ogether all the scenes as beads are put together to form a necklace......here the necklace would have been the episodes of CB.
The original theme is the part that attracts the viewers to the story and they usually watch it keeping that in mind......so any deviation from that will confuse the viewers and people will loose interest. Here I think one of the problems was Kanha.....they have shown Kanha coming and saving Radhika from every small accident.......then why won't he save her from the big one? If Kanha has told her he will never take away Dev from her then why will Dev die? If Kanha has put her through all these just to test her...is God really so cruel? Is Kanha the inner subscious or the actual physical God himself? To me he was subsonscious and that helped me explain much of the story to myself but if he is the actual one then I all these questions prop up. If this is a spiritual love story and is based on ehsas.....then although Dev as Abhay has lost his memory his ehsaas should not be lost......the list is endless.
Now the acting part.......Dev was a very strong and independent man........he had enough self confidence in him to face the world for his beliefs and stand up for what is right. The only time I think I saw him faltering was during the Rajpurohit pooja where he succumbed tosociety and requested Radhika to sit in place of Vishaka. Having said all this Dev was not perfect...he too had his flaws and instead of exploring thse flaws they went for cheap gimmicks. Avinash did a very good job as Dev. His voice modulaton is usually to the mark......his expressions are very good and he has very expressive eyes. Thats why most of the time words were not needed to project his emotoins. When Abhay was first introduced , my first thught was that that atlast a complex male characters wih loads of layers to peel. ......but alas it ended up as a character with no layers and Avinash was robbed off a very good chance to potray a much more difficult character than Dev......I like grey characters.........I also like complex characters, because they are much more interesting and they usually have more facets to explore...........thats why Radhika was my favourite.....as a character her very complex nature interested and attracted me.

I agree Angie, Avi has the best voice modulation.. and yes the haridwar scene, that was amazing, may be the best of all.. He has all the qualities need for the best actor.. but his CV team drastically failed to dig his qualities out, instead they played with vamps around him, giving him monotonous lines and face all the time... Finally who loose, the same production team, because if Avi is lucky enough, he can join with best production, and CV team who value their work and bring out this germ polished in new charactor. He is able to carry the weight of the show on his shoulder.. So good luck with that..
Misti, you said it all in this sentence, just love it.. They also needed a good editor who would then have put ogether all the scenes as beads are put together to form a necklace......here the necklace would have been the episodes of CB.
Yes it is beautiful necklace, each bead should shine and the end should be tied nicely so that all the beads reamin in the same thread without moving apart...
Oh Gosh.. you should be in that creative team dear....

The more I read the comments by everyone, more upset i am with DJ and Zee. I am completely baffled that both the production house and Zee did not see what we are (were) seeing in this serial.

As Deeya had said (in her reply to me) that CB was a miracle and an ashirwad. I am just saddened that, they chose not to partake the ashirwad given to them.

Yes, the story line had flaws and faltered badly in recent months because of lack of creative support. In spite of that the TRP's were far better than most of the current shows on Zee (including the new ones).
And this was only and only because of Avinash and Rubina.

Yes, CB had an incredible cast; of many talented veteran actors who were under utilized. But to me the show was carried by two young and extremely talented actors-Avinash and Rubina.

Avinash was just fantastic. He made Dev's portrayal so real---his acting talent (both emoting, dialogue delivery, and the "POWER of HIS EYES in expressing every nuance of an emotion--even when there were no dialogues) made Dev the central character of the show. It was really a shame that Abhay's character was not explored to its fullest potential.

Avinash not only is an extremely talented actor but also appears to be a genuinely a nice guy and clearly appreciates his co-actors, directors and others.

Rubina, to me is grace personified. She is beautiful and came a long way in her acting skills. Yes, she has to fine tune her performance but she has tremendous potential. She grew in her role as Radhika; but as Imarti she was dynamite. Again, it was a shame that the creatives were not given a chance to explore that character further.(Zee made a poor strategic decision to end a show that was an ASHIRWAD).

As a person, Rubina seems to sometimes come across as aloof. But I think, she is just shy and reserved and only opens up once she gets to know someone. Watching behind the scenes SBS segnments, she used to say so little last year and then this year she was so much more bubbly and talkative.

I really hope and pray ( and in my heart, I truly believe) that Avinash's talent will one day be recognized and that as an actor, he has an opportunity to portray many varied and interesting roles. And if we can get to see Avi-Rubi jodi creating magic again, that will be an icing on the cake.

Misti I posted on the other thread also

Avi may be a better actor but Rubina has a freshness and innocence in her acting and Avi has rightly said she acts well she has conveyed so many emotions sometimes within the same scene and whatever little she has to overcome in terms of voice modulation she will overcome with time as her voice is too soft so it appears screechy and high pitched while doing some scenes.

Anyway I am finding it very interesting regarding publication of this article now.....I mean why this fascination for Avinash now? Wonder what is the channel/PH upto?😉😆 The link to this invisible article was there on CB forum page for a long time and suddenly today it appears.......is it the magic of the TRPs? 😉😆😆

And Radha the speculation factor is soon going to go through the roof.😉😆
😆😆

Gardes, yes, hum sab mar jaayenge to see Avi in this get-up. Already imagining and shivering in anticipation. EmbarrassedEmbarrassed😆😆😆
Misti, I saw this article when it was posted, didnt have time to come to the Forum... yes, my question exactly. All the 2 years almost of CB don't remember any such article on Avi, now suddenly there are articles, a tour... kya ho raha hai? Is Zee regretting its decision by any chance??
Even though the serial has ended, still the forum is active, FB their pages are active... their fans are growing, what more do we have to do to prove their popularity???

DEVIKA it is true that Avis acting potential was not correctly utilised in this show. The first batch of creatives showed us what he can do ....the second batch atleast maintained that but the last batch just made a mockery of everything. That is why I hope whatever show he decides to do, it should be with someone who recognises his talent and squeezes it out of Avi. The same can also be said of Rubina.....although she was a bit rustic at the start but she soon picked up. Her role as Radhika was very good but it was as Imarti that everyone fell in love with her as soon as she came on screen. Her offscreen interaction with cast and crew always showed to me that she has a good sense of humour and I always used to think that whether she can translate that to good comic timing needed for comedy........well she proved that with Imarti.

So true about Imarti .. I remember the 1st epi when we only heard her voice, "eh budhhe" etc, the forum was already buzzing about this opposite character of Radhika ... I know I was elated and the 1st thought that cropped up in my mind was ... "yaaay", Kanha sent just the right person to "punish" amma ..
So during my Houston visit, Ruby and I were talking about this side of her acting and I told her, Ruby, you are more like Imarti than Radhika ... she smiled and nodded her head in agreement.
Just wanted to pass this along for inquiring minds !

A lot of people posted lot of stuff while I was away from the forum for few hours. Have read many comments and will post mine in few hours. For now, I have to go and write about my performance evaluation at work (that is what I did the whole year etc. - too bad can't write about the time spent on forum).
