Mishti,
I would really like to see this. It would definitely be a challange for creatives to handle Dev being the adopted one. Because they have to keep the fans in mind. But thats a great storyline if it is something like that. I know the RaDev fans will be really mad, but that storyline will have great potential. I wish they do that very sensibly. By this storyline they can also redeem Vaishali's character by telling that though she abondoned her own child, she brought up Dev with so much love and affection and her always being worried about Dev. Remember her reaction when Dev is sentenced to "house-arrest" in an ashram, the way she is so worried. That love she has for an adopted son can have the viewers forgive her for abondoning her own child bcos of a hear say.

i agree with all of u regarding santanu,,but dev being an adopted son ,,only can be possible if they had ever adopted a brahmin boy,,,dev being an adopted son will be as near to impossible in CB,,but it will good to see when dev knows about the truth about santanu,,that he is his elder brother,,,dev is ready to give up the RPship to his bro ,,but at that time rad tells him that RP position is not given to the one by birth right but to the one who is wee deserving...

Good post, Aviation ..

My thoughts on this ... similar to what others have said ... Rads and Shantanu could be kindred spirits ... have possibly gone through similar experiences ... though I think Rads may have had a tougher time bcos of Amma, she deals with it better bcos of her faith. Shantanu is a grey character ... he feels abandoned and angry and wants revenge while Rads does not waste any time thinking abt her birth parents. I would like them to show a platonic respect and liking for each other where Rads helps Shantanu and Shantanu helps Rads by pushing her to do things outside of her comfort zone. Would defintely not want S falling in love with her and wanting to take her away from Dev. We dont want another repeat of Vish or even Keshav for that matter. That would be stupid on the part of the creatives.

As far as what Dev would do if her were to find out ... I think if they stayed true to his character, they would show him angry at Vaish and working to welcome Shantanu back into the PB house. I think he would gladly give up RP if that is what S wanted. That is, provided the creatives treat this well and do not attempt to close any cycles or bring Vish back into the picture

Bee5, Misti ... I would also like a scenario where Dev finds out he is adopted ... but dont know if the creatives would go there given how the fan base would feel abt it.

Mishti,

Also, in todays episode, Vaishali says that some guruji cursed her and there were things happening bad happening in the family around the time of that child birth that she believed - if a child before being born can have such an ill effect then he definitely is going to have more havoc once he is born and hence will become vansh vinashak.

yes, you are right, when they have such things like kshamavrat etc written in RP book (which of course Vaishali was not aware of), but there def would have been some pooja of sorts written in that book to ward off the curse of this child if Vaishali really really wanted the child. Some people really do dumb things to please socitey and Vaishali definitely has done this before.

Bee,
To me the guruji cursing her and all bad things happening to the family are just co-incidences.........it does not have to mean that the child will be a vansh vinashak. Since Vaishali is a weak person stooped in superstition and she is a person who is not able to think sensibly......it just re-inforced the fears in her mind. She also has the burning need to be the perfect Rajpurahitan.....somehow she thinks that is the only way people will respect her. Actually I have known of cases where the child has been blamed for something that has happened when he or she has been born......one of my own grandmothers went through the same thing.......my fathers mother was born just half an hour before her own father died of malaria. So through her life she was told that she is unlucky.......infact she was told this when she was a child and that had tremedous effect on her pysche.......she never knew and realised the real meaning of the word love. On the other hand I have a friend whose father died few months before her birth but she was never treated like that........infact she was showered with love and was never blamed for her fathers death..........as a result she is a well rounded and confident person. So it all depends on a persons own beliefs and confidence........whether he or she will succumb to fear or will think intelligently.

Mishti,
I am sorry to hear about the way your grandmother was treated and at the same time feel happy about how your friend was treat though the reasons were almost similar.

Yes, I agree it depends on ones own self how to deal with such things and how they try to make others think. Vaishali was always the weak one and wanted to please society.

This weak behavior of Vaishali goes with her behavior during the varnashankar issue. Though I am not very happy with the complete character development of Vaishali, I am okay. Though the creatives did not do an excellant job , they did okay.

Today by all accounts was a great episode as far as Vaishali & Shantanu... yes, I liked the way he was taunting Vaishali.. and yes he is bitter.. though I would wish they would clear about how Mrini came to know about Shantanu, since she is the one who brought him in their life and notice...
As for Dev being adopted, I don't think so, since Chachu would have definetly ferreted that fact out during the RPship... I think it was his father who had wrested it from Dev's dad... now we know the full details for Chachu's ambitiion...
My take on Dev's reaction (I haven't seen the episode).. is that he is acting little hastily.... you know what they say, act in haste and repent in leisure...
