Misti, so far I have been only able to watch 10 episodes. But I watched those 10 episodes in two viewings and it was hard for me to stop watching them once I started. I knew some of these stories but not all of them. And those sholaks are such a treat. I am so highly impressed with the quality. You are right that the quality shows the time shown in research.

What you have written about it only being shown on Doordarshan might be true but I sometimes wonder that if they had shown in some other chaneel along with Doordarshan how will the TRPs be? I mean the makers of Amir's
talk show along with Amir himself was worried about wether his show will click with the TRP generating audience...and irrespective of the fears it did click with the audience and now they are planning on a season two for the show. Now if That talk show could work with the general audience then why not this show?

Misti, you have a point. A lot of viewers may be watching whatever is being churned out because that is all that is available. So ratings are higher for whatever is the best of the lot. Also it is true that even the highest rated soap doesn't have ratings that it used to have few years ago. So it does show viewers' fatigue with the current products. Also you are right about Aamir's product clicking with audience. I read his interview where he was confident about the time slot. He had given examples of Ramayan and Mahabharat that had been so successful in the past on Sunday mornings. So his view was that if product was good, audience would come.

I am finding this show so addictive that I find hard to stop watching it. So you may be correct that there would have been audience for this show on the cable.

Anyway coming to your comparison part...I am scratching my head as to why you can even think of this comparison.
😆 So true. I guess I am still so offended with how Gods were shown in CB2 that this thought came to my mind.

Neerja, it is about Upnishads. The knowledge in the books are presented through stories and narrators. There is a short interview of Chandraprakash Dwivedi - the director of this show.

I am back with another VM. This was the VM I started making few weeks ago, but felt uninspired as I think I have used almost all scenes that I could find on Dev and Radhika. There are few unused joint scenes that I would like to use one day but so far I don't have a song for them in mind. I was also busy with some personal stuff. So wasn't coming to the forum. Also I had started feeling somewhat saturated with CB and thought it was time to move on from the show.

Anyway, I decided to complete the VM as I had spent some time on it already. Not sure how many more more VMs I canmake on CB as there is not much left. Afterall, there are only five months of worthwhile episodes. It was around this time last year when CB started going downhill - the writers changed, the story changed and the theme/essence changed. It never recovered from it despite few good scenes here and there.

So here is my latest VM. It is based on the song "Ab toh hai tumse har khusi apni" from the movie "Abhimaan". This song is from Radhika's perspective.

I have called it "Joy Forever"; the title is taken from the poem "A thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever" by John Keats. I am not posting the poem as it is too long. In this context, I am interpreting Radhika's unconditional love for Dev as a "thing of beauty" that gives her joy. She and Dev were kindred spirits because both were yearning for their family. Despite Mansa being the true father of Radhika, he never put claims on her and instead gave her dreams of a "dream father" who was going to come for her one day. So she too had this non-belonging that gave her commonality with Dev. So both were drawn to each other because probably both filled a need for the other. For Radhika, belonging to Dev became a dream and a love for him sustained her. That's why I am calling this song "Joy Forever."

I have used two scenes that I have used before. Here I am using more extended version of both scenes. The rest of the scenes are used for the first time in this song.

Chalhov: I ended up extending the first scene because I remember you wanted to see Dev's reaction in this scene in one of the VM. Hope you like it.

Neerja: Thanks for enquiring about my VMs. I will try to make more VMs when I feel inspired. I will revisit your thread to see if I can make a VM on CB1.

Here is the VM "Joy Forever". As usual, constructive criticism is more than welcome.

great to see u Angie thought u'd gone Mishti 's way ..lol
i will take blame for not showing appreciation, you becoming wary n not being inspired ...
all the work ,your interpretation of good scenes that could have been better had 'they' been serious
as Chalhov told ,she wanted to see Dev's reaction i myself missed it, should have told u so ,
your eyes give an 'old feel'

well, if u feel there's only so much u can wring a towel dry..
thanks.

Angie At last , your VM and that also with beautiful song ...I have to write again as mine earlier writen as deleted , as already mentioned , hats off to you for bringing te senes , when there is famine of their scenes together , specially Dev,s ...I like when you use dialogues , it gives story kind of feel amd please do so , whenever you can ...I know, you must have exausted yourself using the scenes again .. liked your starting where she puts sindoor on his feet and he looks at her , her hint of smile
Angie i am being selfish her , please make some VM using old songs with CB 1 as those songs gel with that cb1 era ...i know , its quite tough , you have to be inspired ...songs comes to my mind instantly when i see some scene from CB 1...but you are master now..
i really miss you and Misti , and then others , May be were the reason for me to hoked to forum also ..now i am trying to post CB 1 complete episodes ,not all ...you were saying that you have not sen CB 1 from the start , then why not to see now ...its coming on e Smile in US , has just started
thanks for lovely VM and please be active , no in CB 1...yours are different

Here is another VM. I found this song on youtube and realized that I have not used initial scenes of Dev and Radhika. So Shanta, I did find some new scenes that I hadn't used so far. So I am back sooner than later.

This VM is based on the song "Jab kisi ki taraf nazar jhukne lage" from the movie "Pyar to hona hi tha". The song has soft melody that suits those meetings of Dev and Radhika.

The title of this VM is "When Love Calls Your Name". The title is taken from a song by Cher. Following is the link of the song and lyrics.

You can cover your eyes and hide behind walls you've built around you
You can run for your life
Anytime there's a chance of someone breaking through
But sooner or later it comes to us all and even the strongest must fall

When love calls your name there's no saying no
You follow your heart wherever it goes
To the ends of the earth, for the rest of your days
Whatever it takes, yeah, you'll find a way
Through fire and rain, when love calls your name

Now I see a light and it keeps getting brighter
And it shows me the way
And it's there in your eyes, pulling me closer everyday
After all of this time, the tables have turned, yes, I'm finally ready to learn

When love calls your name there's no saying no
You follow your heart wherever it goes
To the ends of the earth, for the rest of your days
Whatever it takes, yeah, you'll find a way
Through fire and rain, when love calls your name

You do what you must, you take it on faith
You take it on trust, you're out of control
And all that you know, your world's not the same
When love calls your name

When love calls your name there's no saying no
You follow your heart wherever it goes
To the ends of the earth, for the rest of your days
Whatever it takes, yeah, you'll find a way
When love calls your name

Here is the VM "When Love Calls Your Name"
