Hi Angie, Very nice VM. It felt so good to see to some of the emotional scenes after my hiatus when the storyline had some sense. I had really liked Avinash in these scenes...his eyes spoke volumes. You have connected the essence of the lyrics and scenes very nicely. However, I thought the last post-poison scene did not fit in the VM as I thought in this VM you were capturing Radhika's perspective when she was asked not to marry Dev and stay away from his life... sorry for the last comment, but it was my first impression after watching this VM, and you know it is so easy to be a critic;)
Ami, thanks. I too liked Avinash in these scenes as his expressions made me relate to Dev's character more than the lines given to him. He is a very good actor and he does have very expressive eyes.
Ami, thanks for the honest feedback. I don't mind your comments at all. Actually, I welcome criticism because sometimes it is difficult to judge your own work especially when you have spent so much time watching the same scenes over and over again in order to fit them with the song. Sometimes I lose patience and just finish it even if I am dissatisfied. Sometimes I feel satisfied but later on find out that it has not come out the way I interpreted it. So if someone gives a constructive feedback, it helps.
I had some difficulty with the last part as I did not know how to end the VM. There are very few joint scenes from the time Dada manipulates Radhika to the time she and Dev get married. So I ran out of scenes. Then I decided to go with the way the movie picturized this song. There they had met in the end and were just thinking how much was taken from them by others. But despite that, they still managed to be together. So I decided to include this bedroom scene where Dev is pensive. Here he is talking about feeling regrets in not being able to give rights and love to Radhika the way he wanted to do so. So his close brush with death ended up being his wake up call and then he was vowing to Radhika that he would not let his mistakes mar their relationship anymore.
So that's why I ended that way where first he says that people are ignorant when they think that he and Radhika can be separated. Then in the bedroom scene, he is talking about everyone doing injustice to them, but still their love remained intact. So then Radhika is also laying her head on his shoulder where they are sad about what had happened in their life combined with happiness that they were together at last.
Now there was one more scene I could have used here. That was when Dev comes to Radhika to give her prasad after the havan where he had lied to everyone that Barkha was his wife. There too he is trying to tell her that regardless of whatever has happened, they were going to be together. But that was an incomplete scene for me because they were not together. So I tried to make it the same way it was shown in the movie where in the end they were together.
So I started with Dada's manipulations to the ending where Dada was finally defeated by Dev when he broke free from his convoluted teachings. So since Dada was given Purshuttam title by Kanha in the show and was never shown to pay for his crimes, this was my way of showing his defeat. Also I made this song more from Dev's point of view even though Radhika's point of view is also given here.
