Friends, here is my next VM. This is based on the song "Chalo ek baar phir se ajnabi" from the movie "Gumraah". I wanted to use this song because of one particular scene I wanted to use in one of my VM and I could use this song for that. It was the scene before the wedding of Radhika to Rohan where Dev rejects her in a final term. I have used this scene before but not the end part. I really wanted to use because that's where Dev's emotions are mostly visible. Otherwise, he is very stern in most of the scene.

I have titled it "Lovers Become Strangers Again"; it is the variation of the song "When Lovers Become Strangers" by Cher. The first four lines really apply to Radhika's feelings. Here Dev is very ruthless the way he is rejecting Radhika. But each scene shows his emotional conflict and guilt too for hurting her so badly.

When Lovers Become Strangers (By Cher)

You're looking at him from across the room Wondering just how it all slipped away so soon You're looking to find some look in his eyes That will take you back to yesterday

Seeing the scenes during the initial phase of CB2 makes one realise that the original writers tried to maintain the characterisation of Dev as far as possible and they also tried to maintain the humane aspect in him...Here when he refuses Radhike the day before the fake marriage and sends her away...the focus on his eyes and one can see him with tears in his eyes...and a completely devasted look. It shows that he was feeling sorry for what he is doing but he is helpless becuase of the thoughts that has been put in his brain by these selfish people. This humane aspect was completely lost during the Barkha phase and when Dev refused to go looking for Radhika ...the writers made him inhuman.

Angie, you have been quite creative with your VMs..picking up apt scenes with lyrics and creating a wonderful theme, and the VMs I have seen so far are quite unique and not at all repetitive. Ami, thanks.
Tera mera sapne VM is my favorite so far, though I have not been on the forum for a while so need to catch up on the new one's..looking forward to it😊 Tere mere sapne VM is also one of my favorites. It is because at least here I could show the way he should have been during Barkha track, but was instead destroyed. So here he was giving emotional support to Radhika when she is at her lowest. So in this VM, I could go from him standing against his family when they were emotionally beating her up to standing for her in the society. So this is how Dev's character was instead of what was shown in the show.

It was truly sad how they made mockery of CB over the last few months before the abrupt ending. Not sure how the new show which replaced CB is doing. Also, I was curious to see a few top shows on Sony/SP. I watched a few episodes, but it was very difficult for me to connect with any of the characters as we all did with Dev/Radhika's characters..sadly, CVs didn't appreciate what gem of characters they themselves created..

Yes, it was sad that they destroyed their own product so badly and didn't even get the results they wanted. If they had gone with the original theme, probably the show would have still ended after 14 months, but at least it could have been a dignified ending. Were these the same CVs who created these characters? I don't think so. The creator never destroys his own creation so badly.
As far as the top shows are concerned, I watch couple of them on and off. I cannot connect to the characters as there is not a full package I like. So either one of the leads is not appealing to me or the story line is not appealing or something about the characters is not striking chord for me. But what I can see is the difference in execution. I can understand why these shows are on top because of how they are being presented. There is logic for the most part, characters are consistent, focus is on the right people for the most part and there are side stories that connect with the main characters. There is a mix of romance, emotions etc.

I never watched the credis yes after this forum ,just became intersted ..If you watch initially , creative team was same which was in CB 1,
CB 1 was DJ,s concept and their ptoduction but 2 was produced jointly by Zee and DJ,s
costume designer ...who disappeared later on
Director was same , Mohit Jhha...who also diasappeared later on
In the starting story writers were same but changed after some time
Many changes were there ...
May be it was case of too many cooks spoil the broth
Zee has its own creative ream and DJ,s their own , so the clash and both were not intersted
Agree with misti , when i watch Angie,s VMs , there is emotions and all is there
It was somewhere at the time of Barkha,s track , something went haywire and CB ,s debacle started and was left and left to experiment
None of ,zee and DJ,s were intersted in CB2. they just encashed the popularity of the leads ...

Misti, I think I understand all. But not sure about the last one as I have been getting your twists wrong so far. Is it Bholu and Ruby only? Or is it Bholu, Ruby with Radhika thrown in too? Or are you talking about totally different characters. I can see Bholu and Ruby in this song.

Misti, it is so true. Even though we used to write that Dev's characterization was changed after that July 24th ME. Actually it was one day before that. I think on July 21st, they were showing that Dev was all broken up because he couldn't save Radhika and he slumps into the chair (where Rohan's goons tied him up) when Rohan forcibly takes Radhika away. But the very next day, he is shown only caring about not failing Dada. There was no word about his worry for Radhika who could have been in a lot of trouble. From that point onwards, it suddenly became only Dada for Dev and dharam/adharam for Radhika even though Radhika's characterization was still maintained for a while.
But I am stuck again with the difference in characterizations when I use scenes from different episodes from different time period. Now in my mind, there are two CB2 for me - one before the truth came out about Dev and the other one that was after that July ME. The VMs use majority of scenes from the first half and I can only use snippets from the second half. I can not make even one VM just based on the second half of the show as Dev's role is either minimal or he is being so different. Even Radhika is so inconsistent in these scenes or doesn't have enough scenes. For example, I am making another VM these days and I am experimenting with some techniques. But it is hard to find any solo shots of Radhika that I can use from the second half of the show.
Even though there were not enough conflict scenes for Dev even during the fake wife track, the focus was still on this relationship and characterization was maintained as much as possible. So they always spend few minutes of camera on Dev's expressions where he would guilty or heart broken even though he was being ruthless to Radhika. So as a viewer, you could see his conflict and still felt sympathetic to him even though he was clearly wrong.
Even during the wedding scene where he was shown ruthlessly rejecting Radhika once again (despite her mute appeal) by using sarcasm, he also lowers his eyes as he knows that he was doing wrong to Radhika. Even when pheras were supposedly completed, they showed grief on Dev's face when he turns his face away. There were nuances like that in almost every scene. This started going away from end of July onwards and by September, his character was a different character.

Angie when I saw that video..iNstead of seeing the funny Sharukh Khan I was seeing Bholu..when Radhika used to chase him so that she can convince him to accept their marriage Bholu used to have this very scared look on his face that now what is she upto to...RaJsri had a very good description of that exprssion. I remember her refering to that as "deer caught in headlight look"...so I started imagening the silly SRK as Bholu being chased by Radhika. The other pair are again Radhika (Juhi) who is being pestered and mocked by Rohan (bad boy SRK).

I have started a new page in FB with Angie,s VMs as they are different in contents and concepts...Wanted more people should watch CB 2 again with new eyes like me ...I used to think CB 2 lacked emotional connectivity , but Angie has brought forth those emotionally charged scenes and expressions of both specially Dev who was denied his presence in later period , in Barkha,s period ...

Misti, I totally got this one wrong as Rohan didn't even occur to me. Even for Dev and Radhika, I was thinking of different scenes.

But I see your point about Rohan mocking and pestering Radhika. There is one scene that I just downloaded yesterday that was between Rohan and Radhika. It is a very interesting scene because Rohan was both trying to entreat her to accept him but then was also mocking her. So he did know how to irritate Radhika and she also knew how to answer him back. Their scenes used to be fun to watch just as Bholu and Rohan's scenes were. It is so bad that they did not use Rohan at all in last several months and made his character so minor during Barkha track. He was one interesting negative/grey character I loved to watch especially in his interactions with Bholu and Radhika. All three characters had such great chemistry with each other and all three are also very competent actors.

Misti, this VM is for you on your suggested song "Hare Hare Hare hum to dil se hare" from the movie "Josh".

This video took considerable time because I tried to make it different from others. Also I was trying to create a more descriptive story for this song. Once I finished, I realized that I was not satisfied with the final product. So I tried to refine it few times and have now given up as I was just changing the same parts over and over again. Also maybe this song was not appropriate for the story I tried to tell.

Friends, please give a honest feedback on what is wrong or right with the video. Is it too busy and should I have kept it simple? Does it seem disjointed etc...? I do not mind criticism, so feel free to be honest with your opinions.

Going back to the VM, I have titled it "The Sorrow of Love". The title is the copy of a poem by William B. Yeats. If I read the poem, it is from Dev's perspective. In Dev's context, I interpret this poem as him having a life where he thought that his life was complete. He convinced himself that he was a part of a loving family when it wasn't so. Radhika coming into his life and him thinking that it was a doomed love made him realize a different truth. That the images of a perfect family in his mind were actually a sham and he felt lonely among the same things that had made him complacent before. This is not the interpretation of the original poem, but I have interpreted it as such for Dev's story.

However, this VM is both from Dev and Radhika's perspective. There is despair in this song on both Dev and Radhika's part. So most of the video is about loss of a lover. But as I don't like to end anything on pessimism, the last scene does indicate new hope. Hope it has come out the way I intended.

Here is the poem by W.B. Yeats:

The Sorrow of Love (By W.B. Yeats)

The brawling of a sparrow in the eaves,
The brilliant moon and all the milky sky,
And all that famous harmony of leaves,
Had blotted out man's image and his cry.

A girl arose that had red mournful lips
And seemed the greatness of the world in tears,
Doomed like Odysseus and the labouring ships
And proud as Priam murdered with his peers;

Arose, and on the instant clamorous eaves,
A climbing moon upon an empty sky,
And all that lamentation of the leaves,
Could but compose man's image and his cry.

Edit: The refined version of this VM is on second page. I have renamed it as "Love in Despair". The refined version is now called "The Sorrow of Love"
