I was out for two days and didn't have access to the forum. Came back couple of hours ago and read the updates.
I am feeling so furious at what creatives have done in name of "who knows what". This is clearly disrespecting and mocking fans who asked for the return of the show and stuck to it despite the channel playing with the storyline from the beginning. I don't know the intentions of the channel but if the show closes because of low ratings (ratings are definitely going to fall here), do they really think that audience would go for some other from the same channel in this time slot?
It is clear that Dev's character has been deliberately destroyed. Is it to prop up Barkha? Yes partially , but no profitable PH and channel would do that to their lead characters who are so beloved that fans asked for the return of the show. Despite crappy storylines and negative or no promos, fans are still sticking to the show because of Dev and Radhika. Why would they then destroy Dev that has only angered fans of the show? No wonder Zee is sliding down constantly when they can not respect their viewers.
Is it to increase ratings? How is that possible? Dev was being destroyed slowly from last two months and Barkha was glorified. Even when she was not considered totally negative by many fans, the ratings went down and haven't gone up. So they know that Barkha's character is hugely unpopular and now that she has become a full-fledged psychotic murderer, her character is hated and revolting to say the least. So this will only bring down the ratings if Dev doesn't look for Radhika, continues to believe Barkha and then puts sindoor on her and accepts her as his wife.
So why is it being done? This is supposed to be a divine love story. Forget divine love or even ordinary love. People look for their family members if they disappear for whatever reason.
Let's put the logic aside. So lets ignore that two days ago Radhika was totally normal who used to care for Barkha. Shen went to the temple 11 Kms on foot to pray for Dev's happiness and after coming back, she decided to leave him for the night so that she can take care of Barkha who was supposedly having a headache (mind you no fever). When she comes back from her room, she is so disturbed that Dev believes that she deliberately spoilt the food in the morning. Then he thinks of her insecure based on Barkha's words and gets angry at her for just accusing (not attacking) Barkha of trying to steal him. Instead of reassuring her, he leaves her alone and in the same night accuses her of murder. So he thinks that Radhika who has sacrificed so much for him and his family would change in one day so much that she would accuse Barkha of stealing him. So one day she is totally upset and next day she is trying to kill Barkha.
Then on the second day morning despite her protests, doesn't believe her and still thinks that she wanted to kill Barkha by pushing her down three stairs (how do people get killed by being pushed from three steps). So he doesn't want to forgive her or see her face. This is the same guy who has forgiven his rapist and murderer brother and is allowing him to stay at his house. Same with BB who is allowed to stay there in all her glory.
But lets ignore this logic totally and even ignore that Dev loves Radhika. Lets even forget that even when he "hated her" during May episodes, he still pulled her hand from the fire. Lets even forget that despite his rude behavior to her at that time, he came back to stay with her in the night in the temple and brought food/water for her. He helped her to maintain the respect in his family's eyes. The same guy now tattled on her (to his family) within few hours of her accusing Barkha of stealing him and called her a murderer. He didn't once ask her in the privacy of their room as to why she would do this. What happened to her in one day to change her? This is when she told him that she had something to tell him and whether he would trust her. This is the same guy who didn't want her to go out alone during the kidnapping days.
But we will ignore this logic. We would forget that because now Dev doesn't even care if she was out all alone in the night visiting a temple and he was at home (this is when he thought she is the sacrificing loving Radhika). So he didn't feel any need to go fetch her. Neither did he apologize that he should have come to pick her up despite her protests because it was not safe for her to wander around.
So we will go with this new Dev who is an extremely dumb and weak character. But...
Assuming that he thinks Radhika has mentally flipped, any human being would be worried about such a person wandering around in the night without any money (or little money) and not even going to her parents' house. So he doesn't care that she hasn't reached Mansa's home and neither has come around. Let alone one's wife, a person would try to find any family member or even acquaintance if not for love but for humanity's sake. Here this is a 20-21 year old girl who can be kidnapped, raped or worse. On top of that, she is his wife. Even if a person becomes mentally disturbed, doesn't one look for some remedy or do they abandon such a person on streets?
So not only they have killed Dev's love, but they have killed his humanity for one episode. Is this Dev? No...obviously not.. Is he a hero (a flawed complex one)...No. This Dev is not even human. Rohan can think that Radhika didn't do anything wrong but not Dev?
When did Dev think about his own happiness over Radhika's? He was misguided and under obligations when he wanted Radhika to marry Rohan. But he also thought that Radhika would be happy with Rohan. Here he is not at all concerned that his actions have caused Radhika to be this unhappy (where she has become an attempted murderer) and is instead thinking about his own unhappiness.
Any human being would start reflecting on his behavior or having doubts about what he knows. But Dev is not even given one single thought. On top of that, if they show him putting sindoor on Barkha's forehead and accepting her as his wife and continuing with the RP, what does that make him? So what if Radhika is dead or missing? Wouldn't he still want to go with his plans to abandon RP title (afterall this has been too costly) with even more fervor and want Barkha to settle so that he can step down.
Not only they have destroyed Dev's character, they have done the same to others. Mansa's character as well as Chenu's is also destroyed when they don't come to enquire about Radhika knowing fully well that she is missing. Mansa would want to come to PB immediately and after knowing about all the accusations would confront Dev. Yet he is not doing that. What kind of father remains unconcerned that his beloved daughter is missing? If he comes and finds out all the truth that Dev has made Barkha his wife and is unconcerned that Radhika is missing, wouldn't he be furious and confront Dev? In fact, he would disclose all the truth publicly so that he can provide some justice to Radhika.
Now audience are thinking how more low they can make Dev. For now he is going to put sindoor on Barkha, accept her as his wife, allow her to stay in his room (I am guessing this is where it is going) and remain unconcerned that Radhika is missing for 6 months. So he will do all the rituals (RP pujas and others) with Barkha even though she is not his wife. So Kanha who stopped him from putting the chunri together just a day ago will not intervene when he does all the pujas or puts sindoor. Wow, this Kanha is really selective in his justice. So Radhika cannot stay even a month with her legitimate husband and a murderer of Kanha's devotee is going to get rights as RPtain and a wife for at least 6 months. And they can make him fall even lower in order to keep Barkha in the show even after she is exposed. I am even afraid to put that in this thread lest creatives go with those ideas.
Also this mockery of sindoor putting will be done during Navratri days - days of Durga who destroys evils. So not only Dev and Kanha are destroyed, now it is Durga's turn too. I am amazed that these creatives can go to such extent to hurt fans' emotional and religious feelings. And they are under the illusion that fans would come to watch any new shows they launch?
I haven't watched the last two episodes and I have no intentions of doing that. But unfortunately, I will be updating on Fridays so will be forced to watch Fridays episodes from now on.
