@ misti thanks for sharing and also agree with ur comments on seemas post, in out a.p area too thare is a telugu zee channel which was remaking cb1 and it will be aired at 7:00 pm , people here watch it a lot and also indeed it has high viewership aming telugu shows in its time, and even some of my friends started watching cb2 with interest they got on cb1, and the problem her elies is tam is confined to north states only, but zee had more viewership in east , south and west states than the northstates, that lies the [roblem,. and indeed zee's promotion strategies also should increase becoz it always cnfines to one or two shows show only.where as wih starplus its different and promotes it's low trp shows heavier than high trps shows

Good to know almost all channels are having problems (including Sony which seems to be paying a heavy price for their TRPs) but Zee seems to be the most confused of the lot ... i think it was apparent to us when, last year, for no apparent reason they closed CB when it was riding high on TRPs of 3+ ... they seemed to lack their own marketing research team that could have easily told them what they figured out a couple of months later ... that axeing CB and expecting other shows that they moved into that time slot to do equally well would not work - they actually thought that the 7.30 pm TRPs were a result of people being loyal to Zee and that they would come back no matter who was there

Zee had a gold mine of an opportunity in CB when it came back at 3+ TRPs and stayed quite high for some time ... maybe it was a question of taking it for granted or wanting to get too quickly to the top instead of solidifying their positing and slowly taking over.

Zee used to have a stronghold in the US market ... most people I know used to have only Zee as their primary channel but now a lot of people I know are mostly watching regional channels even in the US ... my nephews and nieces in India watch CSI, and other American channels ... currently Zee may be doing fine bcos of their revenue streams but as competition takes over, they are going to lose that also

At least the way I see it , Zee's biggest problem seems to be lack of defining what they are as a channel ... and lack of marketing and advertising to back it up ... i do not know how good/bad the other channels are at this but they also do not do a good job of reaching out to customers to explain whey they are shutting down certain shows and starting others ... they also do not seem to do their own market research but follow along in either Star or Colors footsteps ... it is pretty tough competition out there and if they are not nimble and strategic enough they could easily be overtaken by Imagine and some of the smaller channel

Their footprint is large abroad - and maybe in some parts of India ... so they have to drive a better campaign to see that the TRPs from these are included or do a better job of showing advertisers that it pays for them to advertise on Zee

sorry to say Hari i saw the remake of CB1 in Telugu , it was the poor copy and quite violent ...I requested my daughter to have this channel , just wanted to see how is it , and she was amused and asked me , you want to see this ...Why does not Zee repeat CB1 again ,and it will again be success ...In northern parts people are more in to Colors or Star Plus , and then do not change the channel ...Yes now are liking Sony,s shows ...Zee is not changing its stance , its all shows comes back to the same track ...So he himself is responsible , no quality products ...

@neerja i know di that telugu zee is quite violent but the audience here like that type of shows only and also compared to many other airing shows of the regionalshows are more violent than cb and very worse than this, so no wonder people here adopt cb telugu version. and even according to the statistics zee telugu viewership was increasing since they introduce cb teluguversion. and agree with u if they have introduced cb1 hindiversion exactly, like they introduced banoomainteridulhan or jkr, zee telugu would have become no.'1 by this time, any how the worst regional shows present here make telugucb1 interesting beside of its violent track . and zee also should change its stance according to present era and even though it introduced some shows like csz according to the present generation they were not successful becoz of its poor screenplay. so first zee should change.
