Well if they take it logically then the depression should be there for some time but they have also shown him waiting to break loose of the restrictions........so it is basically should be a fight between these two emotions in him and a catalyst will be needed to break him free.
The problem is that they minimize the emotions when needed and suddenly from one emotion to another without any reason. So logical progression for Dev would be depression, withdrawal from Radhika, unable to resist her when he meets with her, starts coming out of his shell when she also sheds her aloofness from him and finally comes out of all the brainwashing and starts thinking of Radhika's dreams too and fights with her. The catalyst probably would be seeing her all alone in her struggle and also seeing her as an outsider in her family who is being forced into something that is making her miserable.
Similarly, logical progression for Radhika would be initial euphoria that KK and Dev are the same, confusion when that doesn't seem to be true, a sense of hurt and loss when she sees Dev withdrawing from her and acting like a different person, self realization that if it comes to choosing between childhood beliefs (Rohan as KK) and an adult Dev then she would choose Dev and so on.
But when they regress characters back and forth, then it is hard to predict. They showed Radhika's joy and awe at the acceptance of her mother, but then there was no betrayal shown at Shanti's deceit. Neither was any groW*H in her actions.
