Getting to know Aparna Kumar
Supermodel who has got 'Bombay Talking'
Age: 27.
Reelistically speaking: A supermodel who is part of India's first English sitcom, she says her role couldn't be more perfect. Aparna plays a much older woman in Zee Cafe's 'Bombay Talking', a role that allowed her to experiment with her character. "'Bombay Talking' is interesting because it is entirely in English. Also, my role is quite challenging," she states.
Ramp runaway: One, however, does wonder what happened to the ramp favourite. According to popular perception, she could have used her modelling career as a pedestal for films or TV. But Aparna denies this and refuses to slot herself amongst those who shift their successful modelling careers to the big screen. "Modelling is what I have done for the past ten years. It is my lifelong passion. I will continue to be a model till I can. As far as acting goes, I will pursue it if interesting roles come by," she clarifies.
Multi-branded girl: Aparna, who is the permanent face for Wills, has also endorsed other brands like BPL-Sanyo, Rooh Afza, Fair & Lovely, 7 Up, and has also acted in films like 'Rok Sako To Rok Lo' and 'Popkorn Khao, Mast Ho Jao'. Musing on her early beginnings, she says "My mom's friend spotted me at a store and forced me to become a model. I was just 17 when I did my first ad for Northstar, but I'm so glad I did it!"
