Actor Iqbal Khan is one of the most popular faces on TV but he doesn't feel that it is reason enough for him to be in the news all the time. Incidentally, Iqbal, post his marriage to Sneha Chhabra, took a considerably long break and has hardly been in circulation for the past few months. "Some things in life are meant to be private," he states referring to his marriage.
Incidentally, Iqbal was also not seen both at the recently held Gold Awards (partly organized by Anuj Saxena) in Mauritius and at mentor Ektaa Kapoor's party. "I was shooting so I couldn't go to Mauritius. And I wasn't invited to Ektaa's party. She knows I am not the one who likes to party," he says nonchalantly.
Iqbal quit Balaji's 'Karam Apnaa Apnaa' (Star Plus) at the peak of its success. Ask him if he thought the decision was right and he answers, "I have no regrets. I was so tired that I had to stop working."
So was he on the look out for something like 'Choona Hai Aasmaan' (Star One), the first show he took up after his break? He says, "The other day, I was surfing channels and felt that all soaps look the same. This is my first show after the break. Therefore, I wanted it to be the best. However, no, I didn't go looking for a role. I am just lucky that I got this show."
Iqbal adds that he had received offers to participate in 'Nach Baliye 3' (Star Plus) and 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 2' (Sony) but he didn't take up them either. "I don't mind watching these shows but I can't be there. They have just too much drama," he remarks.

Moving on to 'Choona…', he says, "Shooting for this show was thrilling. I sat in a Sukhoi (fighter plane) and there were about 500 switches. Although I didn't fly the plane, sitting in it, gave me a high."
So is wife Sneha happy to see him back on screen? "Yes, she is." On asking if she also intends to return to acting (she has featured in a video), Iqbal smiles, "She is happy teaching pre-school children."
