An apt title for today's epi, it is weird to see UB and CC getting along so well but this is not something I see being permanent eventually there will be clashes but for now I'm happy to see UB keeping an open mind especially since her plan was a disaster!

CC and Manav romancing in front of UB was odd but cute I love how Manav and CC don't shy away from their love for each other.

Now for the Kaumadi makeover its a start but it is not enough, its going to take much more for Mukut to leave his girlfriend. I believe things are going to get more complicated, it just can't go so smoothly

Sorry Dia for posting so many times but my thoughts seem to be all over the place. I was so lost in the ChanMan moment yesterday that I forgot the other reason that I really liked that little scene and that is the way Manav ties his mom and wife together. CC was talking about making Mukut realize his faults and UB was saying that Kaumudi would have to change but it was Manav who said that both were right but both ideas had to be implemented together for success. I really liked the way Manav was used to bind everything together. CC and UB will still be travelling parallel paths but Manav will be the force to merge those paths together which makes sense because he's the common bond between the two.

Jaya, post as many times as you like ... your posts are always so very interesting ... love the points you're bringing up! My lappy has been playing up ... will be back tomorrow with replies and more comments.

For now - just adding something that struck me when I was making the weekly summary ... something that somehow never came up during the daily discussions.

Umaben and Chhanchhan started off the week at opposite poles ... Chhanchhan blamed Mukut squarely for straying, and felt Kaumudi was blameless, while Umaben blamed Kaumudi for not keeping Mukut close to her, and felt that Mukut was not to blame.

By the end of the week, they had both met halfway ... Chhanchhan accepted that Kaumudi did share part of the blame ... when she told Umaben that she was also to blame. By making sure Kaumudi conformed to her picture of an ideal bahu, Umaben had left no time or space for her to be a good wife, the type of wife Mukut wanted. Hence accepting that Kaumudi had fallen short of being a the best wife she could be.

And Umaben accepted that she was wrong to shelter Mukut and blame Kaumudi completely, her son had strayed, and there was no getting away from that. And tacitly, she also accepted her share of the blame, when she admitted to Kaumudi that she was wrong to always keep finding faults with her bahus and never with her sons.

So the two ladies met halfway, and then they both decided on a two pronged approach to the problem - make Mukut see the error of his ways, and also effect a Kaumudi makeover.

Edit - they should have brought that point out better ... the fact that both were meeting halfway ... it felt like only Umaben bent, while actually both did.

Agree with you, Ranjana altogether seemed more likable today, the kitchen scene with Kaumudi.. And her shocked expression, too good!

Manav- Chhanchhan romance in front of Umaben was actually rather creepy.. They seem as romance starved as the viewers are.. But please control!!

LOL ... send Umaben to Mayuri 😆 That will do the trick all right!!!

I also feel Kaumudi's makeover can be better ... hair down for starters. But she's gotten rid of the pallu, that's a good start. And Umaben approves! 😆

I want ChhanMan scenes ... we need at least 2-3 scenes every week, proper ones! This week we got just one!

I think as much for Umaben and Mukut, Kaumudi leaving was a wake up call for Ranjana! Liked the way she took over the kitchen and the work. I think the point about Kaumudi being overburdened with work should be brought up in front of Ranjana too, as she definitely contributed ... Umaben did try to make her work, but she used to palm off her work to Kaumudi, who was foolish enough to do it for her. Kaumudi needs to learn to say 'no'.

I would like some introspection from UB about why she changed so much ... she has to feel that what Chhanchhan said is true to some extent ... there should be more dialogue between them, some more arguments. And CC also has to feel that UB is right in that Kaumudi failed as a wife to some extent ... Umaben's rules and her own goodness came in the way. Some more give and take between the two is required.

Well as for them joining forces, I think u aptly named this Take - 'An unlikel alliance' the thing is in the face of unforeseen circumstances temporary alliances that were before hand impossible arise..its not that they have forgotten their differences or are ready to overlook all the other mismatches.. its just that right now 'this thing is more imp' so this is a temporary ceasefire as far as I see...
But rofl I also get the feeling that CC is so gonna end up taking UB on that English movie very soon! It was super cute anyway the saas-bahu parts today! 😆

So true ... I like watching saas bahu as a jodi rather than as antagonists ... although this does seem to be a temporary truce rather than a permanent alliance, I hope it continues this way, with Umaben giving in unwillingly and UB-CC working together ... the temporary truce giving way slowly to a more permanent and genuine liking and respect. Umaben has always been a good judge of character, CC is more naiive that way ... so I hope there is give and take here ... while CC succeeds in the Kaumudi makeover, she fails in the Mayuri task, and Umaben takes over there.

And ROFL I never thought there will come a day when Manav becomes kabab mein haddi b/w UB-CC! 🤣
And then Manav going all moony on wify and drooling all over her forgetting mummy was shooo mushy cute!! awww and the best part for me was CC had NO MODESTY at all and was lapping it all up cz it was her hubby dearest who was doing the complimenting! 😆 i thought that was super cute ROFL, cz all other times she always put a stop to his drooling while in other company! 1st time hehe she didn't care roflt and UB had to intervene 🤣
Aww, that was truly cute ... they have shown earlier that ChanMan do tend to get lost in each other, so it was completely in character, but in front of UB, this was hilarious!

Kaumadi's transformation is pretty good.. but not that enough...
I for a change feel that Mayuri might be a lonely girl who is without family and might have genuinely fallen for him.. cz i dunno in every show they sooner or later show the homebreaker as a vamp...but in real life its not always like that..
extramarital affairs r wrong.. there is no doubt abt it.. but sometimes people become weak.. they make wrong decision and sometimes circumstances make them take decisions that they should not...but that does not necessarily make them evil in their intentions when those decision were made..
I truly hope CC shows that to us... instead of the easy path of showing the 2nd woman all bad... cz in real life its not so black and white...thus as this show is more prone to be closer to reality I hope its shown that way.. I wanna really see how its dealt with delicately then...
And yes that is why I agree that CC's Mayuri plan may not be that successful.. AND it might need Kaumadi to take matters in to her hand once she is more equipped to handle the situation in a much better manner with UB & CC's help and guidance..

A wife who share 2 kids with the man will have more sway in most cases if she is willing to try harder and I hope we get something like that than CC finding some magical flaw in Mayuri n exposing some dark side!

Honestly I hope they take it that way too ... it will be more realistic ... make Mayuri a career girl who left it too late for marriage at the 'right' time, and it's more about being lonely and finding someone with common interests ... she is happy with an hour of his time, and doesn't necessarily want to break up his marriage. But with the issue of the 10 lakhs, I really wonder. And Mayuri was just a bit too perfect today. So yes, I want both UB and CC to work together on this one, in fact UB should be more successful here, as she is older and more experienced a judge of character. Now that she has abandoned her morcha idea, that is! 😆

Seems like Mayuri is perfect in all that she does and CC is worried Kaumudi bhabhi has some stiff competition. Kaumudi is going to need more than a makeover to win over Mukut but then having said that it's easy for Mayuri to be perfect when she has no one else to think about. I agree Mayuri might turn out to be a vamp because she's more than comfortable with the fact that Mukut is married and it seems like she's known for a while. Is she into married men for what she can get from them and then she's free to move on? It'll be interesting to see how the cv's develop her character and I have a feeling that as Mayuri meets more people in the family she might even win some of them over to some degree.

Agree, that UB wasn't really supposed to be included in the ChanMan moments we asked for but honestly I thought it was so cute that the two got so lost in each other and totally forgot she was there...Supriyaji's expressions were awesome😆.

The fast speed of the show is compromising some of the depth of emotions that I would expect to see but it's definitely keeping the show interesting. I think now perhaps I understand what Sanaya meant when she said it's not a comedy but it's a light hearted show and not a rhonha dhona type of show because that has finally come across. I totally loved today's episode and it must have been the fastest 20 minutes ever...the only drawback is that it's Thursday.

Jaya, I agree with your last comment completely - I really feel they need to slow down the pace. Agreed it is a light hearted show, but the tracks seem too rushed, it doesn't allow viewers to connect with the emotions. Umaben's turnaround should have been supplemented with a conversation with her husband, or at least an internal monologue where she remembers the relevant parts of CC's lecture, and maybe flashbacks of the entire family getting up from the breakfast table ... so that viewers can understand what exactly swayed Umaben to change her views. Has she changed completely, or is it still the considerations of society which are ruling her? It's too difficult to buy her complete turnaround unless one gets some idea of what is guiding her - a woman like her cannot forget her decade old principles in a day!
I compare this show mostly to SGP, which was another light hearted family drama, but the serious tracks there were very well done and explored slowly and properly. There was an evil MIL there too, who turned around over time ... that was not the main track, it was one of the side ones, and it was done slowly over months and months, and very realistically, ... and although there were no monologues there, the scenes shown were so clear that one could clearly understand the MIL changing over time. Here this is the main character and main track, and we are still wondering about UB's motives. The acting of all actors is great, there is no fault there.

Loved RanSan in the kitchen ... I want Ran to feel guilty about her role in the Muk-Kau distances - she used to palm off her work onto Kaumudi too. So it was good to see her taking charge in the kitchen and trying to make up in her own way. Her expressions when UB dragged CC out were hilarious ... 😆

I liked the UB-CC scenes a lot - good to see this unlikely jodi! I do want more conflict between UB-CC still ... more unwillingness on UB's part to try CC's methods ... more willingness on CC's part to meet UB, CC can't be right all the time! Though she was definitely right about the morcha ... thank god she managed to call that off! 😆 But if Mayuri is more grey than black, that will make for a more interesting track than just pure evil!

And I want more ChhanMan ... period!!!
