My take on today ... Ash will update on page 1 😛

Chhanchhan rebuts ... Umaben refutes, retreats ... but refuses to bow. Is this new move a retreat? Or is it a counter-attack?

There is a story about at oak and a slender birch. The oak was proud of its strength, its height, its stature, and mocked the slender birch. She was weak, he told her, she swayed with every breeze, while he stood tall and upright, not bowing, not bending to anyone or anything.

Then came a fierce storm. Winds raged and roared. The birch swayed with the winds, while the oak stood tall and firm. But the storm was too strong ... and soon the oak felt his roots being torn out of the ground. Uprooted, he crashed and fell. The birch swayed with the changing winds, and when the storm had passed, she stood firm and upright again.

Umaben is like the old oak. Standing proud and firm, confident that her roots give her strength, she is unbending. After all, she has withstood many storms in her life and survived them ...even more important, she has led her family through the storms safely.

But has she really? Or has her unbending nature actually weakened the roots slowly over time? Does she need to emulate the birch ... a slender Chhanchhan, who is willing to move with the times, because she knows that in life, the only constant is change ... and to bend is not always to admit defeat. Chhanchhan is willing to bend to the rules in her new home, to go along with them, because this is her home, her family and she wants to keep it safe too. Her roots are as strong as Umaben's, but she can move with the winds of change. Or maybe because her roots are so strong, she is able to move safely and withstand all the storms that come her way.

And Umaben, the old oak does not like change ... her roots are weakened by constant attack, and are pulling out from the ground. She fears that one day they will be ripped out totally. Before that happens, she wants to divert the storm along a different path altogether ...

Episode starts with Chhanchhan showing Umaben proof of her perfidy ... Umaben sheds crocodile tears and tells her she can show the proof to the family and shred her image to pieces ... Chhanchhan tells her to wipe her tears as she is the one not seeing clearly now, while she has seen Umaben's thinking ... have you really, Chhanchhan? 😲 Am not too sure about that one ...

Chhanchhan tells Umaben that yes, she wants to fly, yet can stay grounded ... the mind boggles at the mental picture this conjures up 😉 ... she doesn't want control of the house, but neither does she want the freedom of others to be curtailed ... their fight is not personal, but that of two different streams of thought ... however she will neither let Umaben's image be sullied, nor will she let her be separated from the family, especially not from her son ... Chhanchhan deletes the video ... WHY, CC, WHY??!!! 😲 😡

Umaben has to respect Chhanchhan, although grudgingly ... but feels that Chhanchhan's new ways can never keep the family united ... for that, it needs her rules and regulations.

Chhanchhan disagrees ... a family needs not rules, but love to stay united ... the freedom to find their own paths in life ... the freedom to try their wings to fly ... and she will prove that to Umaben.

Manav finds Chhanchhan alone in the gazebo ... since his life is on even keel, with mom and wife both happy with each other, he gets back to his primary aim in life ... romancing his biwi ... who is quite happy to oblige! 😳

Next morning, Kaumudi takes Mansi, Chhanchhan and Sanjana to the temple ... athome, the men are hogging breakfast ... this family eats a lot! 😆 Dadaji decrees that the men will feed their fasting wives.

Dadaji is an example of tradition bending to the needs of the family and its members ... to hell with tradition if the women's health gets affected!

Manthan's face was a picture ... he was like ... hey, I was with the women, I'm fasting too! 😆

So the men feed their wives ... Manav and Manthan happily, Mukut with very bad grace ... is this man just a male chauvinist pig of the highest order, or is there some other reason for his perpetual disgust with his poor wife? 😡

Umaben reappears with vrat gifts ... and drops her bombshell ... Manav and Chhanchhan are to move out of the house.

Umaben makes it clear, fairly subtly, that she doesn't think Chhanchhan is adjusting within the house and family ... and that's why she's giving her her freedom. Both she and Chhanchhan know the real reason ... is this another challenge? A counter-attack?

For once, the family does not agree ... except for Babuji, who really is without any mati of his own! And the cracks start appearing ...

Dadaji is worried that history is repeating itself ... there will be another division in the family ...

Manthan is worried about the same thing ... division ... added grudge, the division is unfair ... he is getting shaded. Sanjana is happy with the gold sikka ... No wonder Umaben chose a simpleton for Manthan ... given a smarter wife, he would have demanded his share years ago!

Ranjana is frankly envious of the good time Chhanchhan will have alone in her own house ... lots of privacy, lots of freedom, lots of romance ... Manek is only worried about his anek bimaris, and that his brother is going to live separately ... how will he manage?

Kaumudi is more worried ... but about Chhanchhan. How will she manage alone? And how will they manage without her? Mukut is a grouch as usual ... his wife only worries about family and food, never about him ...

Manav and Chhanchhan equally worried ... CC decides to confront Umaben again ...

So Umaben, in her quest to keep the family together, is actually driving the members further and further apart. Will Chhanchhan manage to stem the rot?

The episode left me 😕...came here looking for answers but seems like everyone is in the same boat.
Wondering if this is good or bad for the show.

So Chch deletes the video footage...i am really hoping that UB will not take advantage of that because if she does it means we are back to good vs evil. It would mean we are back to square one negating what the confrontation tried to establish yesterday.

I wish the only purpose of the footage was to bring everything out in the open...UB's dialogue today that Chch was not that bad but just that she considers her bad for her family should be the basis for the future.

Not hazarding a guess on why UB asked ChanMan to live separately but again hoping it is just to prove in some way that her ideology and way of thinking is superior to Chanchan's for the betterment and unity of the family.

I found the reactions of the 3 couples to ChanMan moving out very interesting and clearly showed the dynamics of the family. Manthan is unhappy about the inheritance share, Ranjana wants more freedom (and ofcourse romance), and Mukut-Kaumudi...well everything is wrong in their marriage. So UB's claims about her rules and thinking keeping the family happy and united have clearly not worked. The foundations are not as strong as she thinks.

Ok, my reasoning as to why CC deleted the video ...

a) she gains the moral high ground on UB here ... she had the proof to exterminate UB in the eyes of her son, and she has gracefully granted UB a reprieve. But the video has served its purpose ... UB knows that CC knows the whole truth.

b)UB also knows that CC knows her true nature ... and will be far quicker to suspect her next time she tries anything suspicious ...

c) CC had rebuilt her bridges with Manav, he trusts her unconditionally again, because CC's story was exactly what Manav already knew ... there is really no point in telling him anything to the contrary, with or without evidence, because then he will accuse her of lying to him. In which case, it's good she deleted that video ... since Manav is in the habit of casually answering her phone calls, there was always a risk he might find the video ... and then there really would be trouble between CC and Manav!

But is Umaben trying the same thing again? Trying to isolate Chhanchhan from the family? Because while she accepts that she may not be able to separate CC from Manav, she is still afraid of the changes CC may bring about in the rest of the family.

@bold ... I found those the most interesting part of the episode too ... they highlighted the flaws in Umaben's thinking. There are already cracks in the family ... they have merely been papered over by the strict enforcement of Umaben's rules ... they have not been filled in and repaired properly. And sooner or later, they will surface .

I think only once at least one of the cracks surfaces, will CC be able to start proving that her way is right. From the looks of it, it will be the Mukut Kaumudi one.

So moving Manav/CC out does what? Or is this divide and rule? By sending them out Manav will be miserable and will go crying to mummyji's lap??

UB confounds me. Rather her characterization. Yesterday's dialogues made it seem like she had come to terms with CC being the bahu though she was never going to be happy with her. Today seems like covert warfare to have her removed.

Confused!

Nope you are certainly not the only one. That's what I wrote I yesterday's take, will need an entire week to see how this plays out to come to any conclusion.

Soapyji, another good take...thank you.

Today's episode was a bit confusing. After the confrontation and Chhanchhan's confidence that she will win UB's acceptance things went back to normal the next day. She was caught off guard the next day with UB's decision to send ChanMan packing off to another house.

Chhanchhan erased the evidence (was not expecting her to show anyone that clip yet) and also does not seem to have a clear plan of how she will go about strengthening her position in Borisagar house. Tomorrow she is going back to UB to ask for another opportunity to prove herself!!

Chhanchhan has promised that she will honor UB's stance and will uphold her position in Borisagar household, and won't cross her limit...UB also realises that Chhanchhan really cares for Manav, but she is still not good enough to be Borisagar bahu?

Meanwhile, UB' decision is already leading to discord among the family members, each one remaining true to their character.

Creatives are making it a habit of making us guess what might happen next...so will have to wait and watch what UB is upto and what Chhanchhan will plan.

Agree Capri, the only interesting part was how individual members reacted to UB's plan...clear from before individual happiness/space has been sacrificed for this alleged "family unity"...this will be where Chhanchhan will prove how her nayi soch can help...as she said that family needs to be together out of love not through regimentation.

Forgot to mention loved the Dadaji scene asking husbands to serve their wives breakfast...he is definitely more progressive and empathetic then other men in the house.

Great analysis with the oak and the birch. That and the fact that dadaji opposed UB when she made the grand announcement makes me wonder what he was doing when the fight between mathilal n rathilal was going on.. How is he able to maintain his autocracy, if UB was the one who saved the family from disgrace.. And wat really is his stand in the whole thing.. Some how he seems to be sort of the trump card they r yet to reveal..

UB probaably just wants to blame the rift n all the consequences on CC's modern outlook n score a point there.. She must have something more diabolical up her sleeve.. Seems tooo simple for someone of her potential.. for evil. Well lets wait n watch..
