DOnt think she ll actually let them move out. In all lkikelihood when the whole thing unfolds she wants to blame CC's modern ways for being the root cause of the trouble..
UB is damn unpredictable, and that's the only thing likeable about the character..

Diya, liked the birch and oak story...beautifully written post...the concept is so good but something is getting lost in execution...either it is dialogues or screenplay or characterization but UB (Oak tree) comes across as diabolical than proud and rigid and Chhanchhan (birch tree) often times as meek and unprepared for what UB throws at her.

I am slightly confused with the episode today. UB suddenly decides to make CC and Manav move out the house. Don't understand why she's doing this. Is she testing CC to see what she does or is she planning another big game? Can't really trust her, because she is one cunning women!
The episode was good overall. I have to give a special mention to Manthan today. He was hilarious, be it at the mandir where he gets a whole load of prasad or be it at the breakfast table, where he was trying to eat secretly while serving his wife. 😆
Absolutely hated Mukut, so wanted to punch his face while he was serving breakfast to Kaumudi. He was behaving as if he was doing a huge favour on her.😡
Will have to wait and watch as to how this pans out but wish CC hadn't deleted that video, it may have come in handy for her in the future.

I think for the story to move forward the video had to be deleted. UB making changes for the fear of being exposed would not be the real change CC wants to bring about. The purpose of the video was to let UB know where they both stood which CC had done and keeping a copy elsewhere wouldn't make sense especially as she has no intention to use it against UB. CC has enough self confidence to believe that she can change UB's perspective through her actions. Once CC said to UB that I understand where you're coming form then there is no need for the video, now this is what I call strength of character. Perhaps I'm being too naive but I really believe that in that gazebo scene both characters learned to respect something in the other that they hadn't seen before...at least I hope that the show will have this kind of subtlety and not resort back to the evil egotistical saas routine.
Dia I loved your oak and birch tree story it's one I've grown up with and you applied it beautifully to this show and I want to believe that CC is here to teach UB how to become flexible and bend so when a big storm does come her way she can go with the flow and not be completely uprooted.
I'm a little flumoxed at UB having CC and Manav move out as it defies her purpose of keeping her family together. Perhaps she views CC as a dead limb which will poison the whole body if it's not amputated. Losing one son and his troublesome wife maybe a good trade off for keeping the status quo with the 3 remaining sons and their dutiful wives. I guess UB can't imagine the other sons having an issue or going against her wishes. I think though that the purpose of the scene is to give UB and CC a bargaining point on which to move forward. Perhaps this is where UB will challenge CC to keep the family together in her own way and if she fails then she'll have to move out.

Possibly. But in a way her decree today went against everything she claimed to be doing for the greater good of the family. This one decision has already set the cat amongst the pigeons, so either she knows exactly what she is doing, which begs the question or she has false notions abt why this family is together. In either case, she is willing to jeopardize the family unity to achieve what? Doesnt that go against her own words? Unless like you mentioned, shez out to create a minor stir and basically put CC in a predicament and create friction between CC and Manav. Which basically brings us back to square one. May be its execution issues and part of the problem could be UB sort manufacturing these situations which naturally raises alarm about her intention and motivation. These clashes, if truly ideological could come up when they encounter a genuine problem not specifically manufactured relentlessly. At the moment UB is just too contradicting,

Even though I was disappointed with CC deleting the video it stays true to her character, her intentions are not to rip this family apart, its to keep them together. I think CC deleting the video makes things more interesting in the clash between CC and UB and I'm looking forward to how CC deals with this challenge, hopefully she will not be naive and will be ready for UB's next move. It seems like CVs are keeping UB layered, she still has shades of grey to her

I agree with both Jaya and Mandy ... CC had to delete the video ... it shows to Umaben that her intentions are not to divide the family further, and she really wants the family to stay united ... keeping the video even as backup would mean that she does not trust Umaben ... while deleting the video means that she is prepared to let the Sonali chapter fall into the past and make a fresh start, and also show Umaben that she is prepared to trust her ... if Umaben is prepared to meet her halfway. And I think that plus CC's words did achieve their purpose ... Umaben acknowledged for the first time that she might be mistaken in Chhanchhan and Chhanchhan does not want to tear Manav apart from his mother ... like many modern girls would like to do. So the first grudging sign of respect for Chhanchhan from Umaben.

Later when UB was talking about the keys, it was not with the false honey sweetness that she has shown Chhanchhan earlier ... she was more serious and there was a hint of sadness underlying her tone, as though she doesn't like doing this, but feels this is what she has to do. As Babuji and Manav have said, UB has always tried to do what she feels is best for the family ... now I feel she has given up on her plan to separate Manav from CC, and has acknowledged that CC does have Manav's happiness at heart ... but UB still feels that CC will be disruptive influence on the rest of the family ... hence it is better to keep her and Manav at a distance ... this will maintain the family ties, but keep CC's influence on the rest minimal.

I can't think of anything else ... will have to watch this week play out to see what Umaben's real intentions are.

Diya, you may have a point, UB and Chhanchhan have dropped their pretense...from now it is about finding the middle ground, growing and learning from each other (here I agree with many, hope the creatives make it a two way street). Asking ChanMan to move out could just be UB's quick fix before the "nayi soch" spreads further...she took a hasty decision, like Dadaji was saying, not understanding that there are already fissures within the family. UB may not realise that it's not just her bahus but her sons are also not very pleased with her rules and dictate.

Chhanchhan will persuade UB to give her another chance to find her footing in the family and this time with no disception or pretense from either side and meanwhile Mukut-Kaumudi problem will erupt maybe forcing the two to work together to solve the crisis. It will be a slow and steady process of learning to give and take.

I think you and Jaya hit the nail on the head... UB has finally acknowledged that CC and Manav belong together and she is doing this for Manav as she knows he loves CC , but CC is not good for the family ... good for Manav only according to UB ...guess that the precap dialog where CC says I will show everyone that what is good for Manav is good for all ... means that she will try to show that she is good for the family ...
