English subtitles for Chanchan in US

I have read lot of posts complaining about the unavailability of English subtitles for Sony shows. I am not sure about other countries but I have Sony through my cable provider here in US and we get English subtitles if you enable closed captioning on your TV.

Please note you have to specifically enable it...the subtitles don't come automatically like for Star Plus shows.

Edited: based on the responses here it looks like it varies by provider. So maybe everyone can try if it works for them.

I have it set to "On"...still don't get the english subtitles.

Maybe it varies by provider then...i have Comcast cable and i do get them

I have the same problem...somebody had previously suggested it...but no good. I have Timewarner Cable.
