I saw a few posts going around in forum and a few comments that made me write this topic..!
'Sanaya's decision was WRONG'
'She should have opted for a Lovestory'
I don't get this..? Why I see people blaming Sanaya for the lack of good TRPs of the show? WHY the whole blame is being put on her shoulders? She is an ACTORESS, and is playing her part to the FULLEST.. <3 She is not taking her character lightly and heck.. She even dropped her dream of taking part in JDJ for the sake of her newbie show because according to her it would be unfair if she is unable to give her 100% to the show which is has just started.! What other LEVEL of professionalism are people expecting from her..? 😕
I admit Chhanchhan is not working or clicking the way it should have.. But in my POV, the actual reason is the GRIP of storyline.. the EXECUTION of the story.. . The show cannot just run on the basis of an actor's popularity. There are many factors that makes the show click and i.e Dircetion, execution, storyline, dialogues, Background score and etc.. The 'dramatic element' is what is missing in the show.. And in NO WAY the actors are to be blamed for this.
And i can TOTALLY understand why Sanaya opted for this role.. Because she wanted to try a different genre altogether.. I remember before Chhanchhan started, i read a few articles myself where the reporters were of the opinion that Sanaya is type-casting or LIMITING herself to the lovestory genre.. So i really admire and respect Sanaya for trying to go for something which she had not tried yet.. As always she opts for challenges.. ❤️ She has done negative roles, supporting role in LRL, the role of a shy/introvert girl, bubbly/naive girl and NOW she wanted to try for a totally different genre altogether .. So i can TOTALLY get her decision.
When Sanaya was asked that why she chose this show, she said that the Producer of this show, explained her character in such a way that no one can refuse him.. And this is when she decided to do this show.. But now i think, the producers have uptil now, failed to execute what they PROMISED Sanaya or even to the audience.. And for that Sanaya is not to be blamed..
I think by portraying Chhanchhan as the PERFECT girl with zero flaws, they are making the character unrealistic.. And THIS is why the audience kind of feels disconnected because perfect, preachy female lead characters is what we see everyday in daily soaps anyway.. The makers NEED to show BOTH the aspects of a character.. The flaws as well as the strength of characters. And this is how the audience feels connected to a character.. They NEED to show the LAYERS in the characters.. NOT only Chhanchhan, but also in Uma Ben and Maanav..
I hope that the makers look into what EXACTLY is missing.. Analyze their show on the whole.. Invoke some originality and freshness in the show..
All said and done..!
The show is only 1 and a half month old and i STILL think that the real story would start once Chhanchhan gets married to Manav and then the MAIN part of the story will kick start..( and i.e Chhanchhan-Umaben interactions.. Their clashes.. <3 )
In addition to add the woes, IPL started only after a week of Chhanchhan started, so obviously that affected the TRPs as well.. I hope once IPL ends, the makers are already on the path of rectifying their mistakes and the quality of the show improves for the better..! And the efforts of the cast of Chhanchhan gets payed off 😳
So all we have to do is have some patience and wait for IPL to end and for the MAIN part of the story to start..!
Please feel free to add your points.. Because , if by chance CVs bump into this post, lets hope they get the whole picture what are the shortcomings of this show and WHAT audience feels..
P.S: The above post is purely my POV.. And i tried my best to do constructive criticism..😛 😳 And i am SURE this show has a lot of potential and i hope CVs are able to explore it in the coming episodes.. 😳
