There have been a lot of threads on Farhan. And I agree that he may not be the best actor out there. But for this character, I don't think he's as bad as people make him out to be. This show is about Chanchan and Umaben. It's nota love story as many people wish for it to be.

I understand that IPKKND had a very large fanbase and people really want to see that intense love story thing again. But this show is quite different than that. It's touching a whole another audience (or at least it hopes to) which is why I feel that maybe Sanaya fans are upset sometimes when they see it.

Manav is supposed to be a happy-go-lucky guy that falls in love with a sweet girl with high morals. But the real story is between Umaben and Chanchan. And both Supriya Pathak and Sanaya Irani have been well-casted for their respective roles.

I think because most people think this is supposed to be about a love story, they get upset. But really, Barun cannot always be casted opposite Sanaya. Neither can Mohit. Harshan, Wahi, all these different actors probably want a lead role in show where there would be a greater focus on them. So this show isn't really apt for them. But a newcomer that's just learning fills the bill quite well!

I think Farhan has improved big time since when we first saw him. And I'm sure he will continue to do so. When it comes to TRPs, I never really get them. There have been some awesome shows like Rishta.com that never got decent TRPs. Indian television has been quite a regressive medium so far but I'm glad newer shows are at least being experimented with. We need fresh shows like Chanchan! Give it a chance people!

I think the question should be wound in the direction of what is that one aspect in the show that is failing that could be causing multiple linkages to collapse with it. Each person would have a different angle on this. My view is the director did not correctly establish the emotional basis on which Manav and ChhanChhan's story works on from the rescue night, for the audience and/or the actors.
