She made her choice for whatever reason to make Abhinav the father of her child. Maybe it was because she knew how society would question her relationship with this man if they were living together with a kid. Maybe she realized she needed help rising this child as she was in a coma for 3 to 4 days after the delivery. She would need help caring for her premature son while she recovered.

The writers could have gone many ways. Single mother with friends who helped her. Akshu reaching back out to her family and maybe shifting to the US to AG and Chota Ma for sometime. But for whatever reason they went this way. I don't like how Akshu has suddenly become completely dependent on Abhinav. Maybe that is part of her character trait where she will mold herself to the situation to fit in. She sort of did this when she was in her Arohi jaap era.

We have seen how the families are behaving with Akshu right now and her only support is Abhinav so she is clinging onto that. That unfortunately due to the choices she made. But once she realizes and sees there are other supporters out there besides him she may start detaching from him. I think the biggest factor is Abhi. Once she sees his change she will let go of her facade. But in order for that to happen reality check needs to made to her as well.

I understand her to a point. But writers have not given any reflective guilty dialogues of what she is doing. She has yet to get her reality check. We can only hope she actual gets one. But so far writers have barely given her a realization or redeemption when she does a mistake (including first leap) so not holding breath they will do it here either. It may be half way but not complete.

Abhi is facing the most just due to how they (the writers) made him behave during that day and the rejction phone call. So many people are still upset and triggered by it. We see his turmoil but he hasn't said anything to Akshu. He hasn't apologized after the mandir confrontation where he finally realized what he did that day to her. She doesn't know he has finally realized and is repenting. Her head is still stuck on that day 6 years ago so in her mind all she remembers the anger. That is what is scarying her to not tell the truth. The fear of losing Abhir because she has forgtten the good man that Abhi is and she has seen the way Manjari has been behaving. She will keep thinking this until she sees Abhi in a different light. That can only happen if he apologizes or a situation arises where he publicly defends her.
