Okay, so the episodic I watched is named "Chirokal Aaj"
Chirokal means Humesha & Aaj to Aaj hain. So I guess you can say the title is hinting at the subjective aspect like how sometimes you can live your life in a moment.
Pehle thoda bakwas kar lete hain. 😆 The actress who has played the heroine - usually I don't find her to be that good. I mean she's good/good but not extraordinary. But here she was amazing like portraying the confusion of a retrograded amnesia patient - she was amazing! 👏 And the actor is really good so together it was fantastic. ❤️
Now, the story...
The story is described by the boy. The girl - Tithi, was a 11-12th Standard student when the boy - Rocky, a varsity student at that point, was her private tutor. Both of them were brilliant academically with Tithi being a bit naughty and Rocky being quite serious/khadoos type.
On the eve of her 12th's result, T & R confess their love to each other. Later, they both focus on their respective study./career and in due time, inform the family members. Everybody blesses them, they got engaged and just a few days before their wedding T gets into a car accident, causing her disorder.
Her memory relapses in every 10 seconds so it becomes extremely difficult for her as well as her loved ones. They actually explored this issue thoroughly. Tithi is no Aamir Khan from Ghajni who can move mountains. She's a patient who's slowly deteriorating, much to her parents' and R's dismay.
And during one of her episodes, when she gets out of control and R tries to calm her down, she accidentally hits his head and he dies on the spot.
It's then revealed that R is actually dead and he's telling his story from his afterlife. T's parents bury R secretly and tells everyone that he has left. R reveals that he has no qualms regarding it since no one else would understand T's condition. But his only regret was, more than him, it was T who needed freedom from this excruciating life. So he's waiting for her to join him.
And they ended it saying, now that he's in heaven, he got to relive that moment over and over again when T first said she loved him and they were the happiest.
I know it's a very cliched story. But I'll say the way they have portrayed it without going OTT is what made it so amazing. Like, we didn't have to go through 15 years Ninna-Nibbi's weird, comical love story. The characters were practical and career oriented. They never let their love hamper anything else and actually took the time to establish themselves.
Then the frustration of the patient and her near ones. Like, there was this scene when T forgets that she has to go to bathroom and she wets herself in front of R. The pain on R's face and embarrasment on T's - it was just too real.
And the best part for me was the ending. I felt it to be symbolic. Like they chose the scene where T opens her door and invites R in. I felt they kind of relayed the message that R was at home. It was the perfect way for their story to get completed. May be I am thinking too much but that's how it felt.
So, what do you think?
