I love the songs you posted! Hai duniya usi ki -God! That song gives me goosebumps! I posted it too and it’s such a great example of Shammi and Rafi melding together into one spirit! ❤️

There’s always the personal preference. 😳
But I fail to understand why - when it comes to Rafi and Kishore fans - they must fight to establish one’s superiority over the other! Cannot they just leave it at personal preference and live and let live?

Rafi might be my favorite singer but that does not diminish my appreciation of other singers from that time! And all of them were marvellous in their own way - Rafi, Mukesh, Talat, Hemantda, Mannada, Lata, Asha, Geeta Dutt, Kishoreda, Shamshad Begum, Suraiya.. Lord, they were blessed! And we’re blessed for having their songs to listen to! Which is why I fail to understand why people feel the need to declare one or the other as superior?

Can’t they just enjoy the treasure trove of the legacy we’ve been left by these stalwarts?

Art is not something to be fought over. It’s meant to bring people together!

The lyrics by Majrooh are magical. And I love Rafi sings this - his voice caressing every word like it was a fragile flower! Beautiful!

And I love this song from Oonche Log! Only Rafi could have sung this the way he did. It gives such a beautiful vibe, you can almost feel drops of the morning dew on your face, and the chill of the early morning breeze as you listen to this. Beautiful composition by Chitragupt!

I love how Rafi stresses on the 'vasl-e-yaar', evoking a sibilant sound that hits me right in the feels!
