I know the people there are so into Indian music etc. In a Lombok village store, some of the young girls started singing the moment they saw us Koi Mil gaya'.. and we had a lot of encounters like that where they sang us Bollywood songs with pretty good diction.
Very good people and I was impressed with the cleanliness pretty much all over Indo. Even though the living conditions in some places was not up to mark, there was no filth or kachra on the roads and sidewalks. Very clean.
I had visited Gili Trawangan as well. Beautiful island off of Lombok and has no motorized vehicles. We got hit by an unexpected huge tidal wave ( a mini tsunami) but we were okay.
I can feel the devastation they are going thru with 3 earthquakes!
