I found it boring because I have read other versions of Mahabharata. Plus palace of illusions is nothing but a great piece of fiction and I don't like to read writer's imagination when the story is so different.

The only thing I liked about that book was 3 things a sage said about Draupadi.

If you ever want to read anything related to mythology go for Devdutt Pattnaik books. Mostly mythology shows are based on his books (including Devo ke Dev Mahadev)

I loved Jaya by DP it was kinda retelling Mahabharata In shortstories.

It depends on which character you want to read. If you want to read from Karna's point of view then you should read Mrityunjaya by Shivaji Sawant (Marathi writer but you can find hindi/English version)

Quora is the best place to know all versions of Mahabharata from different povs. I can give you Quora links.

I have 3-4 books of Chanakya and i thought I would read after finishing my research on Mahabharata.

Yeah, it was 😲 but there were only a few episodes I couldn't find any online 🤢
