While I wait for the new season of crown I found another show "Outlander" on netflix.
I'm hooked to it now. After Anandi and Shiv never thought I would "ship"a couple. Here I am totally loving this couple.

My sister recommended this show but didn't pay much attention until I heard the guy who plays the parallel lead and also his villainous ancestor role in this show has been chosen to play Prince Philip in season 3.
This show is very well written with a terrific looking lead couple who can act too.The content is well researched and the way they recreate 18th century England Scotland Paris really make it a worthy watch. But one has to have a strong stomach to put up with the explicit scenes blood and gore though.Performances are top notch so is the chemistry between the lead couple.
Since the story revolvs around true incidents which took place in that period it is very relatable too.Nice way to tell the history from common man's point of view. After watching this show I got to know why majority of the world hates Britain.

Hello all!!!!
Coming here after a log time.

Been watching a lot of stuff on netflix, amazon prime and host star as well. Got subscription for all three. Don't tune into TV at all these days all thanks to the high speed unlimited internet provided at home by my employers I am on the net all the time😆
Finished watching one set of shows on netflix while trying out some new shows.

Watched Sairat with subtitles on netflix recently.Awesome film. They elevated routine teen love story ito another level with their gritty realistic approach👏Ironically a the same time while I was watching the movie we had some news about Honor killing in Telangana state.

Last night watched Dhadak. Wish people would prevent Karan Johar from touching their well made films. He took away the essence of the film and made it so bland🤢🥱 Sridevi's daughter seems to be okay for a beginner. She can surely dance. Ishan has the makings of a great actor though.
While I liked Sairat a lot the dance number Zingat is much better with Jhanvi and Ishan.

On the TV front if any of you subscription for amazon prime do try watching Good wife. One of the best shows I have seen. It had something for every kind of a viewer. A legal drama with a case for every episode , a family drama with interfering mothers in law, teenage kids seperated husband and wife, a doomed love story of the protagonist with her college classmate and her current boss, a political drama complete with campaign management vote bank politics EVM tampering and what not. The performances and writing reminded me of Balika Vadhu.
I am surprised that nobody thought of adapting this for Indian Television audiences because it would work very well with our "TRP aunties" since the protagonist is a wronged wife who tries to make a life for herself and her children.

Other than that I am still watching Nimki on Star Bharat.

Hope you all are doing fine

Happy Dasara to all 🤗

I saw Sairat as well on Netflix Appy, I loved the struggle they showed the leads faced once they reached the new city. Very realistic.

I am watching The Crown Season 1 on episode 10. Loving it so far, the acting and the story are top notch. Depicting each character with their own struggles is ⭐️ The Queen, her sister, her mother, her husband, the Prime Minister and his struggles.

I am not watching anything on Indian TV, I am bored with the infinitely never-ending, TRP induced tracks 🥱

@Appy, There is this hilarious Pakistan rom-com you can watch on Youtube for free called Suno Chanda. It was a Ramadan special this year. Again, the acting is very good and the story is very entertaining with only 30 episodes. I have been recommending this to everyone 😆 and people who have given it a chance have loved it. Try it and see if you like it.

I read on IF that Netflix is coming up with a series on the 'Rise of Shivgami' book. Can't wait to see how they will show it.

Hi Nivi!!! Happy Dussehera all😊
Yes.Lot's of news about casting for Sivagami show is coming out. I am not too enthusiastic about the cast now. Only reasons I look forward to this show are the story and the director,Deva Katta.
Deva Katta is a very good film maker. Hope Sivagami changes TV/Web series for better.
For the timing being I am using Amazon Prime and Netflix to watch Good Indian films which otherwise we wouldn't get to watch.

I loved Crown and I am so eagerly waiting for the next two seasons.Even after watching the show my views about the British Monarchy and Winston Churchill haven't changed but I still could connect with all those people in the life of queen and understand what motivated them and the reasons behind their actions. The show also told us how Britain looks at the rest of the world.
The performances were topnotch and so it was engaging as well as enlightening in a way.

After watching Crown I was so totally put off by what's airing on our GECs.

One thing that really grabbed me after Crown was The Good wife. They told such a great story in a span of 160 episodes. It had everything a TV series requires for commercial success , drama emotions romance strong female lead around which story revolves, social message and it also was thought provoking. This show is a proof that stories can be told in limited episodes too.

Even after watching all these good things from every where I am happy that BV stands with the best from around the world.👏

Want to watch Sanju the film. Don't know when it is going to release in the Digital world.

I am also reading book series called Outlander. These are such well researched books.Staring from Scotland and ending up in North Carolina.Waiting for the upcoming series of this too.The season 4 is going to deal with the early immigrants to NA. Somebody should make the current US administration watch the upcoming season of this show. It will remind them that they too were immigrants at one time😛

Any way enough of my ramblings. Got to go back and read properties of light for my upcoming class😆

Hello all😊
Crown grew on me in Season 2..⭐️

Finished Suits finally.. I was literally obsessed with that show❤️ Harvey is droolsss!❤️ Donna is kickass! and Louis is hilarious. Appy if you liked legal drama in The Good Wife..Suits is one too..revolving around life of lawyers just longer, because it is 8 seasons long

Going to start House of cards or Brooklyn Ninety Nine next..

Watching Suno Chanda now..its really refreshing and fun..no rona dhona etc😆

watched week 1 of KZK..it was quite bad😆 Parth is a decent actor though..but Ekta is only becoming worse, instead of becoming progressive so dropped it😃

Resumed Yeh Unn dino ki again..since two days😆

Finished season 1 of The Crown. I really liked the story telling. So much pressure on The Queen to keep their place and monarchy intact more for their religious beliefs the monarchy being the Head of the Church in Britain, Churchill supporting the colonial ways and wanting Britain to retain its importance.

The last episode ended nicely as well, all the characters thinking and handling the pressures/frustrations in their lives
The Queen - balancing her duty and family.
Philip - how frustrated he was being in his wife's shadow, nothing to do on his own, everyone showing him pity and giving him work to do hurt his already hurt male ego.
Townsend and Margaret - did they sacrifice their lives not wanting to go against the family ? For the kind of rebel she is why didn't she go with what she wanted ? 😕She did say she doesn't care for the money. 😕

Crown is such a great drama telling a story about a woman balancing her responsibilities towards her husband and sister along with the responsibilities towards the crown that sits on her head.
I think Margaret didn't know what she really wanted in her life.I think she enjoyed being in the limelight and all the stuff that came along with the royal title just as much as she loved Townsend.I think only after letting go of Townsend she realised what she lost. Getting married to Snowden was probably a reckless act on her part. She did pay a heavy price for the decisions she made.
I wonder how Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip manage to keep their manage alive for more than 7 decades. It's no mean achievement considering the fact they have witnessed so many marriages in the family disintegrated.
Prince Philip really grew on me in season 2.
Waiting for season 3 to see Royal couple and Margaret Thatcher.
Don't really care about Charles and Camilla's budding romance 😵

After Good wife I took a break from legal dramas.
Currently I am watching The resident on hotstar which deals about the darker side of medical practice.currently season 2 is airing.
Plan to watch House of cards as well.I heard so much about it. Pity how brilliant actor like Kevin Spacey screwed up his life and career though.
___________
On the movie front I am currently loving Telugu Cinema. They are coming up with different films after boring us with films having stories of same old hero bashing baddies and walking off into sunset with an arm candy heroine. Now I wait for Friday on Amazon prime to catch the latest Telugu Film
Heard that Voot is coming up with series set in a law firm.Wonder how it will shape up.

Watched Sanju on hotstar last night😊
Normally I don't watch movies on weekdays.
But when I saw that Hotstar released the movie I couldn't resist.😆
Ranbir Kapoor has given a mind blowing performance⭐️
I forgot that I was watching Ranbir Kapoor and not Sanjay Dutt.
The boy literally lived in that role.
Don't have words to describe his performnace

As for the movie itself - It works well in parts. The drug addiction and his fight to come out of it was really well done.Father Son bond was shown quite well too.
Paresh Rawal with all due respect to him doesn't quite fit into the role of the Senior Dutt.

I think this movie is an attempt from Sanjay Dutt to tell his story as he sees it.

But one major omission was his film career. It was equally an impressive part of his life. Every time people wrote him off he came back with a strong performance and gave blockbusters. This aspect of his life also should have gotten attention IMO.

Ive actually really enjoyed many Bollywood movies this year.
Its been a year where storytelling, unique concepts got the attention it deserved

1) Raazi
2) Parmaanu
3) Stree
4) Tumbadd
5) Andhadhun
6) 102 Not out

for that matter I did not find Dhadak awful personally. The ending was as hard hitting as the original. But yes both Jhanvi and Ishaan had ok debuts, nothing terrific in particular..I do think Jhanvi will go a long way for some reason though..SKTKS was also fun, if not over analyzed😆 I have a feeling that Sonu was actually homosexual, thats why he couldnt bear to see Titu getting married..because otherwise I dont see what was so terrible about Sweety..she was a practical, smart woman😆

Padmaavat and Sanju both had a huge canvass and more or less they did justice, purely because of legendary acting from Ranveer and Ranbir...but I personally thought the movies were far from best work of both the directors..

If I had to chose the best actor though, it would be Rajkummar Rao in Stree..he was just unbelievable🤣
Also Vicky Kaushal is a star⭐️👏👏👏

Few movies that I could not bear at all were Mann Marziyaan, Veere di wedding and Qarib Qarib Single something :/
