Nivi - I watched a few episodes of Yeh Pyar Nahi Toh last week.Haven't managed to watch any of my TV shows this week because I was busy binging on Downton Abbey.😆
Downton Abbey reminds me of BV
Ever since I got this Fire Tv stick I have been consuming more of digital stuff and less of TV shows😆
Hope to catch upon my TV shows this week.
I agree FL is a little stiff and the girl playing younger version is much better.

I finally finished watching Vishal Bharadwaj's Haider.Tabu just stole the show.⭐️You forget that the movie is about Hamlet and walk away only with Tabu's Gertrude in mind.Shahid Kapoor beaten fair and square by Tabu. But Shahid Kapoor as Hamlet was good too though he was outshone by Tabu.

Hi all!!!
After a long time I came here.
Read somewhere that Sidharth Sengupta is coming up with a web series on ALTBalaji. It sounds promising.
Have been watching a lot digital content but stayed away from Indian content because they all seemed to be more focussed on showing bold scenes and stories which are woven around those scenes.

Now with Sidharth Sengupta jumping in I'm willing to try out ALTBalaji.
------------
Finished watching Padmaavat on Amazon Prime.I wasn't too impressed with the content though the visuals were stunning.
There is a thin line between valour and foolhardiness.I felt the line was blurred in many instances when it came to Shahid Kapoor's character.
Don't want to say anything about Allauddin Khilji's character. I have only good things to say about Ranvir Singh's performance.
--------------------
Other than that I finally finished watching Downton Abbey. This may be set in early 20th century England but yet it was so relatable probably because of the subjects like women empowerment and moving along with changing times it dealt with.I miss Downton Abbey just like I miss Balika Vadhu.
Planning on watching Designated Survivor on NetFlix next.

Nimki is getting better and better. The actress playing Nimki is a bundle of talent.

Amazon prime - started watching Breathe..found a lot of loopholes in the script, but Madhavan, Amit Sadh have put up explosive performances...and the direction is good!

YUDKBH - watch it on an on and off basis now..but it is still always refreshing whenever I tune into it

Netflix has been a lifesaver for me as well..finished a fantastic series called Genius, which is a dramatized take on the greatest rivalries between the inventors who changed the world..including Gates vs Jobs, Edison vs Tesla, Wright brothers vs Glen Curtiss! Tremendously addictive episodic series!

Watched Princess Diana's documentaries (I was definitely choked up by the end of it), House of Windsors, world war II documentary etc

I think I am gradually moving away from fiction to non-fiction (since reality is stranger than fiction)😆

Alt balaji - tried watching that stupid Ram-Sakshi show, couldnt bear it for more than 15 minutes..Ekta is just recycling her stuff, old bottle in new wine, with the same old useless bgs, direction, dull presentation..never went back to it..

Web series easily seem like the future of entertainment industry..I hardly tune in to TV myself, except for news channels and YUDK

I am subscribed to both Amazon Prime and Netflix. Now I hardly tune into TV.Even the two shows that I watch on TV I end up watching them on hotstar and sonyliv.
Amazon seems to be focussed on bringing in India specific content. All thanks to Amazon Prime I'm getting to watch most of the latest releases that caught my interest.

--------
Sadly digital content providers from our country seem to be focussed on providing semi erotic stuff.🥱
There's a show on Star Bharat Saam Daam Dand Bedh which is doing badly on TV but it would have done very well on digital platform. Wish our makers realise the potential of digital platform.

I have been wanting to catch Madhavan show Breathe but haven't done it yet.

Netflix -The non fiction stuff is quite good.

Hello all!!! 😊
Long time since I visited this place.

I have gone off Hindi TV almost completely except for an odd episode of Mere Sai and Nimki.
Now a days I'm watching a lot of stuff from Amazon Prime and Netflix.
Just finished binging on Netflix original "The Crown" a very engrossing and engaging drama revolving around the life and times of Queen Elizabeth. It has some first rate performances⭐️
The dude who is playing the Queen's husband is really hot😳
That said I don't know whether what the Royalty says and does has any impact on the events that are taking place around the world these days😕
Even after binging through twenty episodes/2 seasons of Crown I still haven't understood why British still cling on to Monarchy😕
Nevertheless I liked the portrayal of the Royal couple and their marriage and the Queen's struggles with balancing duties of the queen, wife and mother.(This part is the most interesting).Like the way they have interwoven her personal life ad relationships with the events that have changed the course of Britain.

Now while I wait for the subsequent seasons of the Crown I'm going in for Mary,Queen of Scots😛😆
----------------
Read about a lot of shows going off air and new ones coming up.None of the upcoming shows seem to interest me🥱
Sphere Origins show might bring back our beloved director of BV Pradeep Yadav but I doubt that he alone is enough to make me sit through that show.
***** Just saw a promo released by Gajra Kottary - the upcoming Sphere origins show story is by Gajra Kottary

Yeah am not sure what has Queen Elizabeth done as such, but I have been told, that because she has so many jewels and stolen stuff with her, whenever the country goes out in full crisis, she sells one of the gems and gives money to the treasury😆😆 dunno how much of it is true😆😆
but the Brit royal family, somehow stood the test of times, managed to withstand the Diana Wave (I LOVE D-I-A-N-A), if she would have been alive, she would have toppled the royals, is what I feel, and even contested elections and won it..atleast she was contemplating it.., came back on track, Camilla even got to marry Charles finally😆, and the new generation seems to be really sorted..and it is still the most popular, world renowned royal fam, I mean nobody cares about other royals in Europe😆

and this with Queen just doing practically nothing😕

++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Acting is top notch in Crown, and I liked S2 a lot more than S1..am still unsure whether he had/ dint have an affair with Russian ballerina..but that confrontation talk was the best scene of the whole series sofar..

S3 is going to have a time leap, so the hottie isnt going to be there any more Appy, new actors for S3 as Queen and Prince

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Moved on to 13 reasons why..I am not sure how I feel while watching it, but it sure is discomforting, twisted, dark take on the life of teens in high school..half way through with S1. Its like a complete paradox to song and dance High School Musical..where even a dance party is dark and scary..most of the issues feel real..

@red I think he did sleep around to soothe his ego.But don't know if he went around having affairs because his emotions seem to be firmly invested in his marriage and wife.I think that's what he was trying to say when she confronted him.
Matt Smith is one Hottie who can act too⭐️Wish some our own hotties take a leaf out of his books and pump up their acting chops instead of just pecs abs and biceps. I take no names.😉😛😆

Even I read that the Queen is a kleptomaniac but apparently there are other family members too who were kleptomaniacs.
I was just brushing up on my knowledge about British political administration. They don't have a written constitution and the Monarch has full rights to pull up his/her prime minister and cabinet for non performance. They can actually do a lot on behalf the common people if they wish to do so. .They can be the voice of people who keep the parliament in check. But unfortunately they don't care to do so.
Elizabeth the II seems😆 to be most impressive when she is standing up for her husband's rights.
I think the wife, daughter and the woman who struggles to keep the family together are more impressive than the Queen Elizabeth.
I think the only time so far in the series Elizabeth the Queen rose upto the occasiona was when she pulled up Winston Churchill for the lack of transparency over the handling of Suez canal crisis. That scene were she pulls up Churchill was another fantastic scene

I think the only reason that makes her interesting is her almost obsessive love for her husband Prince Philip.😆
Prince Philip seems to be a far complex character though. On oneside he wants the royal family to move along with the changing times and endorses his wife's power and on the otherside he feels his masculinity is compromised because of his position in his wife's life. The actor did bring out these struggles within Philip very well with his performance.

Pity they are replacing the actors. But I hope the actor chosen to play the Prince is just as hot as the outgoing actor😳

I think season III is going to have a lot Prince Philip Vs Charles and also Charles and Camilla Parker friendship.

While I find it difficult to understand the bond between the Monarchy and British public I like the way they are telling the story of Monarchy and the story of Britain in parallel and interweaving them effectively wherever it is necessary.
I think Britain finds itself being marginalised on the world stage post the colonial age and the monarchy finds itself being marginalised in the era of democracy and both are trying to find a way to remain relevant in this current age. This is something that comes out very strongly in every episode⭐️
The crown is definitely one of the best shows as far as the content writing performances and production values go⭐️
--------------------------
I thought I would give *the Reign* which is about Queen of Scots a try but not sure now because it seems more like a period teen drama rather than a historical show about life and times of Queen of Scots. Most of the shows on the netflix now seem to be supernatural thrillers or teen dramas. I can't connect with them.
I came across a show called Godless which is a Western may be I'll give it a try.

Other day I was watching a documentary on Diana.Feel really bad for that girl who was sucked into this royal pit.
I also came across the Christening ceremony video of Prince William's son.First time I saw Camilla Parker with the royal family. It felt so weird to see her in place of Diana.
I lost interest in what Royal family and it's affairs after Diana died but after watching the Crown I was looking up on the Royal family and found that video.
If they all feel that Camilla was the right person then why deny the permission and choose that young girl Diana?😕

--------------------
Waiting for the start of next season.I guess it will focus more on the Teen Charles and the mother of all love stories between Charles and Camilla😛.
I probably wouldn't be so anti Charles and Camilla had he not played with Diana's life the way he did.
--------------

Other than that I saw trailer of Sanju. It was terrific. What is the role of Sonam Kapoor in this?I'm waiting for this.

On the topic of biopics I'm waiting for Biopic Mahanati to come on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

Charles was hopeless, but he had a pretty messed up childhood and did not get the guidance he needed. I agree, why dint they get Charles married to Camilla, when the guy, just a night before his wedding to Diana, was still crying and pining for her..? The whole idea of finding a virgin, winsome beauty for Charles and thinking he would fall in love with her..was so wierd and idiotic..it destroyed only one person entirely, for no fault of hers..because Charles eventually did get to be with Camilla anyway

I dont think Charles ever loved Diana, he wore Camilla's gifted cufflinks on their honeymoon for godsake and carried around her picture in his diary and stuff..it doesnt take a rocket scientist to understand, that it simply was the worst thing to do to your new wife?🤓

I think nobody expected Diana to protest or come out into open with all the nonsense going on inside the Palace..everyone expected her to be a dutiful wife and mother..and make happy public appearances..whilst both her and Charles could have their EMAs separately. I guess thats what the norm was in the royals..keep the dirty dark secrets inside..and fake smile in public😆

Diana changed it dramatically, by not only calling out on Charles for "there were three of us in the marriage", but also admitting she herself had affairs..woman scorned as they say!

++++++++++++++++++++++++
Sonam is playing Tina Munim if I am not wrong..or all his love interests pre Madhuri roled into one..

Mahanati is on Shivgami?

Mahanati means * Great Actress.

Mahanati is a recently released biopic on the legendary south Indian actress Savitri who was numero uno in Telugu and Tamil film industry. She was the Sridevi of black and white era.

She attained stardom with her talent was the number one heroine in both Tamil and Telugu films and then she undid all her achievements by falling for the wrong man then later got addicted to alcohol when her marriage broke up. She died because of alcohol related liver disease and other complications related to diabetes and blood pressure.
