Thankfully politics of southern states keep away lotus and it's Kesariya politics from the region.
I am not very familiar with Tamil Media because I don't understand the language all that well. I think Lotus meddling in recent affairs has kept the party in power united.
Telugu states prefer regional parties over Lotus and GOP still has some presence in the Telugu states even if it is lying low for the moment.

I am awestruck by the performances. Not just the leads but every single actor in this show.
I think they went wrong in focusing too much on the family and too little on the village affairs.Probably that is the reason for it's failure. It started with Neerja and lost it's way by focussing too much on Gulaal the adarsh bahu.
Even if the story changed it's direction and went on to become a mere family drama the writing and performances still top notch.
May be that's the reason why it had it's loyal audience till the end.
Sushant Singh was just awesome and his redemption and transformation is much more convincing than certain someone's redemption and transformation😉😆But then Sushant Singh is a splendid actor who was discovered by none other than Ram Gopal Verma.
The more I watch his scenes in Gulaal the more I appreciate his acting.👏
