Glad your busy time is over for now!

So which movie is on the list after FB&W*FT? Befikre, I read is being panned. OK Jaanu, doesn't seem like it has a different storyline but can be a one-time watch at home.
I have lost touch with SW. Have seen the HF original ones but long time back. Haven't seen any of the new ones yet.
It's only the action part that gets more sophisticated with each FF, otherwise they have come a long way. Wonder what SJ's chr. has over DT in FF8? Paul will be missed but way too many chrs. in this one. Seems like they like a crowd coz if one goes out, a new chr. is added.
Saw Ryan Reynolds, Ben K starrer Selfless yesterday & the verdict is time pass movie. Recall Vanilla Sky long time back as a pioneer which was different in the 90's.

AM's low popularity in Germany & VP/JA leaks can have a bad consequence. No guarantees coz seems like a rise of nationalism in Europe.

Haven't seen any news of JK's successor being announced yet for US soccer. Haven't read the articles I have sent you. Was wondering what happened since they had renewed his contract?

Parents are in your neck of the woods, so they are enjoying warm weather for now. It is much cold in Delhi and the rest are taking turns falling sick or getting cold/cough.

Yes, here Christmas festivities are in full swing. Things actually start before Thanksgiving.
People are telling me that it is easier to shop in the stores coz not very many people are present and I saw evidence of it on Friday. Didn't seem like Christmas in the mall I went to coz the foot traffic was far less. Seems like online shopping has caught on in a big way.

From what I am reading, seems like a positive effect of demonetization has been an increase in online payments in India.

Still a vegan, but off & on do partake cheese I shouldn't. I have gotten a little lax on that but most of the dairy products are still off my list & so is meat.

I like POW, so have managed to catch up. I binge watch a few episodes together. It is hard to watch them coz the websites are bad but I make an effort.

Befikre always looked like shit.so am not surprised that it will be panned
The next movie that seems worth watching is Dangal
Thankfully I haven't seen Sultan, so there won't be wrestling overload.
What is la la land? Haven't heard about that movie at all but it seems to be doing great from what I see

@FF8: Looks like DT's character has been controlled by some microchip or something

@parents: ooh..they are visiting family? When are u visiting here next? Any plans

Btw forgot to tell you..Bahnni sends a huge Hi.
Thanks to you I could get in touch with her.

If online shopping has caught in a big way here, I can imagine how big it must be there. Wonder what it will be in few years. Sort of break from tradition of planning and going to shop. Dunno if it's a good thing or not. The catching up of everything online

@National anthem: they have beem playing it before movies in Maharashtra since a long time. I dont particularly mind it..But enforcing in my opinion is absolutely stupid. SC is giving a lot of frivolous decisions lately..
You know what the funny part is..someone put a querry as to whether NA should be played before court proceedings..the SC refused to entertain the plea

I am someone who used to deal mostly in cash..have started shifting to cashless transactions a bit. I don't like the fact that there is a trail of what I spend on..I know it's stupid but I don't like the idea of it being recorded 😆

Had no idea about the launch..

What a news to greet her shifting out of ICU

Haven't seen Sultan either, so Dangal would be a good watch 😉
La La Land - I remember sending you the trailer & it appears that on the award circuit its making some noise. Ryan G was on Kimmel's late night show recently. JK is hosting the Oscars next year -
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/jimmy-kimmel-reveals-oscars-pay-956232

Would love to visit India soon but no plans yet. Parents are visiting family. Great, u were able to contact Bahnni.. a huge Hi from me too when you contact her next. Why is she MIA?

Online shopping - it is convenient for sure. I love it. Haven't looked back since I started.
Cashless transactions - it's a way of life here, so you won't hear any complaints from me. Another convenience for time strapped persons like me. Saw 1 cr. draw in TOI for digital pmts in India. They will help the govt. immensely in tracking big movements of transfers and hopefully impact the black money market plus terrorist activities.

Amazon Prime launch - can't believe they didn't go for it in a big way in terms of announcement

Saw the first episode of This is Us yesterday.

Read abt Sushma Swaraj's kidney transplant & NM's praise for her... 👏

The raids seem to have become an everyday affair. Good for NM that he is following through. Must say he had seemed a run of the mill politician in the beginning and but now I have a new found respect for him.

I am not too conversant with JK. Whatever I have seen of him..He is decent but nothing extra ordinary
Your opinion on him?

@Bahnni: she said she wants to come to FB and CC but it somehow never happens..Sometimes life just catches up

I can understand the benefits of cashless transactions..Juts that I haven't been used to them..Plus there needs to be more cyber security..Not just in India but all over the world
Demonetization saw a big jump in iPhone sales as Apple is supposed to be the most secure 😆

I posted the same Netflix article for u without reading it here.

So a day after Netflix tied up with SRK..They sent a notice to Sanjay Gupta for Kaabil claiming that it seems like he has plagiarized Daredevil (same blind hero theme)
While I know Sanjay Gupta doesn't make original movies..All are inspired from some of the other HW/Korean movies or shows..And some one needs to call him out..But the timing is questionable..Considering it occured one day after their tie up with SRK and his movie Raees is closing with Kaabil đŸ„±

@Shushma Swaraj, the railways minster Suresh Prabhu...Nitin gadhkari..are few of the imp ministers who have been really good in their work. Esp Swaraj and Prabhu..So good to see them being applauded..Coz they deserve it

Plans to travel during Christmas holidays?

US soccer might have made a stride but they have a long way to go. JK brought some players, who followed him to US. Not sure if they are staying or not. He has broadened the exposure for sure but apparently there was a downside too -
http://www.foxsports.com/soccer/gallery/jurgen-klinsmann-usmnt-manager-fired-112116

Cashless transactions - the culture has been one of primarily cash transactions. This will take some getting used to and navigating around but it will be easy for government to track. There will be both good and bad associated with it.
http://money.cnn.com/2016/12/15/news/india/india-digital-payment-cash-lottery/index.html
I read about iPhone sales going up due to demonetization but the article I read in TOI was due to the fact that people bought an item in exchange of cash that was going away. Security adds another layer when there is a push for cashless transactions.

Keep me posted on the SG issue. Has Netflix even seen Kaabil before making that assumption?

The Electoral College votes on Dec 19 and what happens under different scenarios is explained here -

@electoral collage: what the eff.. so what was those electorals that he won on 9th Dec despite not having the popular vote majority?
this is absolutely weird

i saw a few epi of Ishqbaaz..the ML is worse than ever in being downright repulsive
the actress playing the FL acts well though. the other two brothers are side lined

no fatalities is good man .,..years been bad for aviation industry

The Electoral College has outlived its purpose and needs to be done away with but that would require new legislation & that itself will take time. Since it has favored the Republican party candidates (Bush Jr. & now DT), they are unlikely to have the will to change it.
http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/18/politics/electoral-college-donald-trump-monday/index.html

I saw Ishqbaaz when it first aired and like QH, events did not connect and there were plenty of glaring loopholes. ML had an inflated sense of himself being rich & all. Is Nakuul a misfit in that role or the PH is at fault here? Will try to check the show & let you know

Yes, good news that there were no fatalities. The air crash of Pakistan plane, where all lives were lost was bad enuf.

Drone issue - still going on. BO up until recently cozied up to China and imposed sanctions on Russia. DT looks to flip flop that. His beef might be with China coz of trade imbalance. US has shifted much production to China and in return they have not allowed US companies to set up business in China. Read an article where he has asked Tim Cook to look into production of iPhones in US.
Drone capture is a symptom of a much bigger issue. Will be interesting to see how it pans out. Brace yourself coz it sounds one of many where the two countries will clash.

Very very pleased to read about building homes instead of splurging on a wedding. Can more come forward please?

Which structures are considered heritage in Bombay? There should be quite a few.

I am looking forward to Sherlock s4 too. MD's "The Great Wall" & SW seem to have scored big. Have they been released in Indian yet?

Wrt Iraq war, it is now a known fact that US led coalition forces did not find any weapons of mass destruction, which made it pointless to wage that war.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/barackobama/8956959/Barack-Obama-and-what-he-said-on-the-Iraq-war.html
DT too made it one of the focal points of his campaign and hammered Jeb Bush for what his brother did. Moreover, when the White House condemned the Russian hacking and ordered the probe, DT's team responded by denigrating CIA's earlier findings abt Iraq. Is this CIA's response or there is more to it, dunno yet.

I am back here after ages
Past few days have been crazy

Saw Dangal..Loved it minus the dramatization with the coach
The fight director did a super job..The wrestling bouts were amazing
My fav have to be Omkar and Babita even though the story was more about Geeta
But finally a good hindi movie

Another movie I saw was deep water horizon..Really well made movie..Makes you wonder how much we mess up with the environment to saw a few pennies here and there
I was busy with studies that year..Was it a huge occurence?

I think in terms of human casualty Bhopal Gas Tragedy was worse but then Indian laws..Can be manipulated easily

Still liking POW despite a few loopholes..Wasn't particularly fond of the actor playing Salim but the character was a good guy..Sad to see him die
Abbie seems to be Lala's man..
I loved this technique they used when the doctor declared Salim was out of danger after surgery..Where even though they focussed on Imaan and Naaz, we could see Shaira hugging Abbir and her brother and mrs Khan heaving a sigh of relief

Try to watch Sherlock..You saw?

Yes, Dangal was a good movie to watch...well worth the money & time spent 😃 ... enjoyed it a lot.
The BP oil spill disaster was a big deal here. Apart from the actual tragedy, there were plenty of side effects such as tourism in the Florida Panhandle suffered, the life forms in Gulf of Mexico suffered greatly etc. There were calls to boycott BP gas too but coz it contributed by paying fines & rebuilding the FL economy, a lot was forgotten over time. The movie is on my definitely watch list along with the one on Boston Marathon bombing. In a developed country like US, processes are automated to quite an extent that it limits human damage as few are involved. In a developing country like India, there is much effort on human power such that a tragedy has a much higher toll on human life...I think!
I saw Eddie the Eagle, which was a one time decent watch based on real life story of a British Olympic jumper, Eddie Edwards.

Haven't seen Sherlock yet. I don't believe it has come to this side of the pond yet.
Am still liking POW. I was guessing Abhi to be Vikram's guy but u could be right coz Lala seems to know every move of Imaan! I was waiting for Sartaj to regain his confidence & it seems to have come through his savior act of Harleen. From a guy who couldn't hold a simple job in the post office closing envelopes to saving Harleen unhesitatingly, he has come a long way. Hope he does not regress & go back into the shell. I am waiting to see something spectacular from Naz now.

Rangoon, Raaes, Kaabil or Jolly LLB 2 - which one is good?

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-esq/melania-trump-daily-mail-spar-location-her-libel-lawsuit-961151

Edit - My bad... seems the first episode of Sherlock is available ... will be watching it this weekend!

Edit again - saw E1 of S4 of Sherlock & it was good...totally unprepared for tragedy at the end...have to see prior seasons again coz didn't remember that Mary used to be a spy before settling down with Watson!!! There is quite a bit I might have forgotten

i agree..automatization improves the efficacy, but then this was sheer neglect on part of those BP employees in order to save a few pennies.
Any idea about the current out come of the case..Coz i think i read at athe end that the two BP employyes who were convicted were later acquitted but the company had to pay a huge amnount in compensation (an even that will be less for the envirronment)

though i have a few misgvings, i like the overall treatment of the story..esp Imaan and Naaz..they had issues, she chose Salim but at the end, she is not bitter and understands what Salim's loss means to Imaan
also like the connectivity in terms of Shaira..she seems to have been hit the worse..despite her warming upto Imaan
Vikram is coming to know that his ex wife hallucinates..i am unsure what will come of that

Rangoon, Raaes, Kaabil or Jolly LLB 2 - which one is good?
frankly not impressed with either of the trailer
Rangoon has great acting and setting but doesnt feel like Vishal Bharadwaj movie at all but just a love stroy
raees..srk is good in anti roles..but again seems too comercial
same for Jolly LLB2..the only thing i hope is that the director has kept the essence intact

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-esq/melania-trump-daily-mail-spar-location-her-libel-lawsuit-961151

he is going to be a collosal embarresment for the whole of US

i still havent seen

have you seen Lala land?

out here with electiosn coming up in major states esp UP..drama has started again
its almost the levels of GOT politicsđŸ„±..every thing comes to a stand still
i hope the parties actually do debate on conducting all state elections toegther with LS elections..to save time and money
