What dictates a show's failure or success in India ?

1. Critical acclaim
2. TRPs

Answer is clear for all to see . If critical acclaim were the benchmark , all the mindless stuff in the form of SSK , the daayans and the naagins would not be running. Its finally the TRPs that the dictate the show's success.

Yes , have limited episodes , but at TRP .1 , you will get no sponsors for those limited episodes too. That means that the pressure is there for TRP for all types of shows. India has not yet matured to the level that there is TV being made that has NO audience or a select audience !

Also , if the experiment fails as it did with the AB show and 24 which got bad TRPs , the limited episode stuff may not happen again. Maybe that works for some people who don't want work or want little work !

So critical acclaim + no TRPS = no repeats , no work
TRPs = repeats
Critical acclaim + TRPs = more work and repeats

Maybe someone does not want to work 😕
