I had posted an SNL video making fun of Trump's demeaning of women. Than I decided it's not something to laugh about when we just saw women committing suicide due to ill-treatment.

Was debating on posting something else regarding Obama but decided not to. He claim closing to admitting that civilians have been killed.

Sush - apparently post mortem confirmed that she died of suffocation from hanging but how did she get there to begin with. Plus all the other actors and actresses from the TV fraternity have come out in support of Pratyusha that she was abused and her boyfriend is the one to blame for this. But like Madhu/Indra said that how can she think her life is worth only this that she cannot live for her parents or focus on her career? Its really really sad story...
Anyone read this big news this morning about Panama Leaks?
A big law firm called Mossack Fonseca has leaked details of Rich and elite people like Putin and Messis's tax havens. The documents show 12 current or former heads of state and at least 60 people linked to current or former world leaders in the data. They include the Icelandic Prime Minister, Sigmundur Gunnlaugson, who had an undeclared interest linked to his wife's wealth and is now facing calls for his resignation. Iceland was almost bankrupt and he received funds to inject money into the country.
Its quite an unprecedented leak which can have major repercussions because these people are not only head of state but quite influential people who have access to billions of public money from the governments they run.

Regarding the actress - It is very unfortunate. That serial was quite famous Which means she must also have been popular. Quite sad. Contrary to the popular belief I think it takes lot of guts to kill oneself 😭

Fedex, yes heard about Panama Leaks. Wonder which all countries will undergo leadership changes soon.

EDKV last episodes were kind of boring. Hope this week is better

Wow! That's a good piece of reporting! Hadn't seen that...thanks for sharing G! Icelandic Prime Minister Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson was involved? Very disappointing!! Iceland has such a clean image...
If committing suicide is Gutsy...it is a case of misplaced guts for sure...J! I sort of know what you mean...about having the courage...but that would make it something admirable...which it is certainly not...I think it is an emotional act...not a courageous one...I also think this much limelight at such a young age is hard(er) for many to handle...People crumble under pressure in many ways...some turn to drugs, some to crazy behavior and others to suicide...when the world as they know it...seems very different from reality that they can not handle...Forensics can find out things beyond the cause of death...if there was foul play...
Red...the topic you raise is very complicated. Sometimes you can get a well rounded perspective on such topics...by listening to the debates on Intelligence Squared (IQ2 debates). I would highly recommend them!

@ Madhu: I don't agree with you regarding our generation getting confident due to the fact that you noted. The truth is that when we were kids there were only few profession that were well established and well paid. Now there are many opportunities out there. Even with different professions there are opportunities that never had any chance a decade earlier. For example creatives and artists: If they did not get into Movies they did not have any chance whereas now with TV sky is the limit. When i was in university MCA was a big thing whereas now even with few computer courses they can do wonders. Before journalism had a very limited scope whereas now its a whole game change. These are just the examples. Most of the fields are doing great. Now its not what you study its the excellence that you achieve in that field that matters. Kids can study whatever yet they should understand that they must go to the top in whatever field they chose. Saying that its still the fact that Doctors and professionals can make easy living and so to be on safe side parents especially desi ones want their kids to pursue that route.
@G- Will go through that article.

@ Indra and JJ - You guys still watching Quantico? How many seasons are they planning before they find the real culprit? Is this like 24 or Suits that at the end of the season the case is solved or is it like Pretty little Liars which goes forever?

@ Indra - Will be visiting your city in summer yet again. If my parents visit me then will be there two times. I am participating in the cultural event that is going to happen there. Am both dancing and choreographing a dance for the inter city competitions.

@ G and Sush - Sorry if i offend you in advance. can I ask you guys to stop detailed political discussions here? ITs getting annoying since not many are from US and most important we all come here to discuss some fun stuff.

On Pratyusha - I read this post somewhere and thought to post it here.

Sharing a very well written post I just read

I was deeply saddened on hearing the news of Pratyusha Banerjee's suicide. And I feel compelled to write this, with all due respect to Pratyusha and her loved ones.Very very sorry for your loss. I am unaware of the details of course, but the news suggests relationship problems.

So here is what I want to say to every girl reading this:

You are more than just a relationship. You are strong and beautiful and capable all by yourself. You do not need a man to define you. I don't write this as a boy hating "feminist"( the quotes because that word is very very misunderstood and misused) I love men. I think men are wonderful and a very essential part of our lives. But this society places too much of a premium on women being attached to a man for their identity. At first the father and then the boyfriend or the husband. Please please know that no one, and I mean no one, is more important than you on this planet. And no one will ever be able to make you happy if you are not happy with yourself. It doesn't mean that you have to be alone to prove a point. It means you should understand the difference between wanting someone in your life and needing someone in your life. It is better to be single than to be in an unhealthy relationship. Too many women hang on to abusive partners and unhappy relationships because they are so frightened of being alone. Because society judges single women. They are made to feel inadequate and damaged and like there is something wrong with them. Older men are more desirable than older women. Divorced men are more accepted in society than divorced women. Well we are the change. We are just as much the society as anyone else. And none of this will matter if we start to feel differently. Be the change. Being single is not that big a deal. Know that you are not alone. Everyone is afraid. Everyone is afraid of being alone and yet everyone is alone at the end of the day. Know that a broken heart can be mended in time. But a life once gone can never be replaced. We have one life, and it will come with its shares of ups and downs but we owe it to ourselves to make the most of it. So love yourself ! Surround yourself with people who love you just the same and make you feel special. Because you deserve it. You deserve every bit of love and awesomeness that life has to offer!

Bhavi,
That was a great quote and I agree that society stigmatizes single women. I've been single for a few years now and it's true that people define you by who you are with. There's very little value placed on single women; it's almost as if you aren't a mother or wife then you are nothing and for a lot of women this road is too hard to travel.

I'll be the first to admit that there have been times that I have been uncomfortable or felt like the proverbial third wheel and wished I had "someone". Society places a lot of pressure on women to conform to certain "norms" or "ideals" and if you deviate outside the "norm" then there must be something wrong with you. But I'm happily single. I have a good life with amazing friends and have been blessed in many ways. I wouldn't change my life if it meant that I would miss making the friends I have or having the experiences I've had.

I read this quote on Pinterest and it's very appropriate " it takes a strong person to remain single in a world that is accustomed to settling with anything just to say they have something"

As for Quantico I'm not watching it anymore. I got bored. . . LOL
