Acclaimed actors Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranvir Shorey on Monday announced their separation after just a little over five years of tying the knot.

The couple, who had been dogged by rumours that there was trouble in their marital life for long, will continue to co-parent their four-year-old son Haroon.

"Ranvir and I have mutually decided to separate, but continue to be friends and co-parent our son. Will appreciate your support. Thank you," Konkona, daughter of renowned filmmakerAparna Sen, posted on Twitter.

Ranvir also made the announcement on the social media platform.

"Konkona and I have mutually decided to separate, but continue to be friends and co-parent our son. Will appreciate your support. Thank you," he wrote.

The duo, who worked in "Gour Hari Dastaan: The Freedom File" earlier this year, had been dating for three years before they decided to get married.

Athiya Shetty who made her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan Production 'Hero' that was released last week is already in the eye of ace filmmaker Karan Johar.

If rumors are to be believed, Athiya Shetty has been approached by Karan to star in one of his next projects.

A source close to the actress revealed to a leading daily, "She had been going through scripts for a while now, and wanted to take her own time to decide what to take up next. However, when she was approached for Karan Johar's film, she seems quite excited. So, if things go as per plan, she will definitely be on board and we will start looking for the male lead soon." [sic]

While another source was quoted saying, "Athiya, who has been launched by Salman Khan, is not bound by any contract and is free to work with any director and production house. Salman has also made it clear that he won't have to guide Athiya at each and every step of her career as she is capable of making her own decisions." [sic]

The report further states that, when Karan was contacted his spokesperson denied the reports while Athiya remained unavailable for comments.

The "Namastey London" actor took to Twitter, where he shared a photograph of himself and his wife sitting in a book store. In the image, Akshay is seen sitting on a sofa and his wife Twinkle is seen signing a copy of her bestseller for a fan.

"Ignored by a fan who wanted an autograph of @mrsfunnybones...happens when your wife is a bestselling author! #proud," Akshay tweeted on Monday.

Sharing the same image, Twinkle quipped: "Where the big star happily looks on at the little one that twinkles - sorry reposted - couldn't resist the poor pun :)"

Twinkle had launched her book on August 18 at an event here. The duo, who got married in 2001, are proud parents of two children -- Aarav and Nitara.

Akshay, meanwhile, will next be seen in "Singh Is Bliing", which also features Kay Kay Menonand Lara Dutta. The film is slated to release on October 2.

Later on he also shared a cute picture of Aryan holding AbRam upside down and captioned it: "Sumtimes u have 2 let Life turn u upside down, so u can learn how 2 live, rite side up.Or Big Brother is always there."

Nissar Parvez is synonymous with "young entertainment" and is one of the most sought after directors in television today. WithNissar's addition to the team of ETR2, viewers can hope for some good romance along with drama after Rana and Gayatri's wedding.
