Yesterday I was watching an old movie called Raja Jani.
Dharmendra is trying teach ettiquete to a village girl played by Hema Malini. However, the girl instead of learning anything tries to seduce him. Thuss, a jordar tamacha.

In the next scene the girl is crying but when the servant is trying to console her she wakes up laughing. Why ? Because according to her its the husband's job to slap his wife. So, now that the man has slapped her she is happy because that's qualifies him as her husband.

In another movie Manchali we have a spoilt brat who accused her uncle of cheating her. yes, the Uncle is good guardian but then her husband slaps her. In next scene he also tells women should be taught a lesson when required.

Now, imagine how deep this crime against women has penetrated in our society. They show up even in films and they are justified in the name of culture.

Wow Debby u have summed up everything so well 👏

Ingrained in the mentality n reinforced by the society ...well I don't know much about old movies but my mom was telling me that even crime patrol and such shows show tht women are treated Lile dirt in the country

And u know wht sucks the most , THERE IS NO CHANGING THIS ..cos let alone big or small classes n stratus, even in our houses things ARE biased ...

U know my aunts used to hate me cos I used to speak my mind up and refused to bow down to idiocities

Even in work places the treatment for man and woman is different

The thing is that we as humans are not able to accept the change with time. Not only in India but this is a worldwide issue. And this is not only refected in the away people treat women but also in the way in which humans treat humans.

The thing is that together with time, we think that certain boundaries defined by elders and ancestors will not change and should not change. But for how long is the question.

New generation, new ideas are spreading out between people and with time they will realise that evil practices need to be left behind. But the problem is that youth is bringing many harmful practices along with it. Bullying is a classic example.

Ah angy u have probably nailed the issues well

Every ear, every time has issues ...for instance even if we talk abt the so called brand "modernization " youngsters tag it as FREEDOM n freedom means boozing, fagging, living in and wht not ..BUT yes they are personal choices , however , we arent realizing the vices of these will eventually be a SOCIAL EVIL...for example in the west Here "teenage pregnancy ' is the BIG issue ...

BUT BUT the real deal is tHings happen in the east n the west however , the treatment melted out to the cause is different

Ok see daljeet says her hubby pushed her for a normal delivery while she is asthmatic n needed to go for a C section ?.this mentality I am talking about , how will tht Change 😲

Teenagers have always been surrounded by voces. It is just that they can either accept them or reject them. When I was a teenager, I was not 'in' the 'cool' group. Had only one friend throughout high school. So basically was I more focused on studies and life rather than boyfriends, dresses, movies, etc.

The thing is that teenagers today think that being 'cool' make to superior than others. And this mentality forces those who are 'not cool', to 'pretend to be cool'. And at times, 'being cool' results in breaking some limitations and results in things like teenage pregnancy.

I would say that teenagers need to realise that being cool never means not following parent, leaving studies behind, and calling people 'nerds' or 'bookworm'. Because ultimately, 'nerds' and 'bookworms' are the ones who actually gives these people jobs.😆😉

About Daljeet, I wish she recovers soon. As of her husbands mentality, women who stand up for themselves will never take such behaviour and leave the man the next second to behaves that harshly. Still I feel for her.

Problem with India is that it is stuck between new and old. Hypocrisy is the root cause of all evils in India. Neither we let off go the old nor do we accept the new.
As a new aged person we replaced diyas with candles and candles with newly developed electric lights but still a girl child is a burden,

Now, we want a salary earning daughter in law who would come with loads of dowry. Along with it she should know all the hindustani ways to please her in laws.
