No, I don't really agree...they've written Nandu beautifully too in many ways...such a strong, innocent yet mature character she is...but off late they've been faltering in terms of consistency...that is the problem...

Manik is a more complex and layered character than her but that doesn't automatically make him better...they are just two different personalities but ppl are applying the same standards unfairly to both of them...like comparing apples to oranges.

Essentially the writers make Nandu a scapegoat to show contrived scenes and Niti can't always make it credible by herself...many times she does though...the soft wise way in which she looks at Manik or talks to him is what gives layers to Nandu.

About the epi, it was ok... The precap was nice😳 Waise I read stuff about Nandu holding a rose? Was she? I don't think so...

Why did Nandini cut the strap?😕 Can't you play a guitar without the strap?😕

And why was she angry?😕

Other than that, I liked dooriyan, only coz Parth lip syncs so well😳😆

They are both well written characters. It's just that Manik is an extreme personality. He's so volatile where Nandu is calm, strong and sorted. While she loves him as much as he loves her, I fangirl more because of the way he expresses his love and also because this same guy used to be a monster and how he's putty in her hands.

But story is definitely more Manik centered. It's all about his friends, his family, his experiences, his choices. We don't get to see Nandu's side. But Manik is all Nandu centered, so.

This is how all love-hate stories on TV end up being😆...it's always about the damaged, complex characteristics of the male lead and how the female lead heals him😆

That's cuz they set up the power structure as such...it's always the girl who comes into a new town/space where the guy's world is...clearly Nandu was the outsider from day one in this city, this college...it was Manik's established kingdom so we see it unfold through Nandu's eyes as she discovers everything about it bit by bit.

Soon enough everyone gets caught up in the love story and no one bothers trying to develop the viewpoint of the FL beyond what her feelings for the complex ML are😆

And none of us complain much cuz we are happy over the feels😆

I'm stating this objectively...cuz personally I feel MaNan have an essential feel to them beyond the cliches in general.

SO MUCH WORD TO THE BOLDED PARTS. But I admit these kinda stories are my guilty pleasure😳😆

But I have to say in this case, they have done a great job developing Nandini and her viewpoint well. It's a lot better compared to all the others ones I have watched so far.

Red part gave me feels. I concur. Despite all the cliches, they have that genuine, natural, deep bond that we connect to.
