...Akbar is in his chamber feeling immensely sad on abul fazal's murder and his son is responsible for it..he locked himself in his room for several days and did not even talk to any of his begums...and in his room alone with shaky hands he opens the window to see the sun and remembers how his sons from his several wives and concubines had died one by one..they all had all limbs and body parts intact but still they died and that is when akbar had gone to various religious places to find peace and to pray for a son who lives..and that is when he came across salim chishti and salim was born..the same son who was at loggerheads with akbar and was waiting for him to die so that he can have the throne..akbar felt more weak and old on the thought of it and felt as if his days on earth are limited now..and that is when he decided to meet salim and give him the message that he will be the next heir to the throne..i think couple of years passed after fazal's death and akbar's health deteriorated faster..he had lost the will to live mainly because of salim and was worried inside if he is capable enough to take over his vast empire that took 43 years to built!
akbar had arranged for a fight between khusrao and salim which salim won and akbar put the taj on salim's head that he will be the next emperoro and when the coronation happened akbar was on death bed and too weak to talk..ruk and salima were by his side and salim during his last days was visiting him regularly and repenting of his estranged relation with his father a father who was the greatest mughal leader and had immense energy to fulfill his duties to the fullest..akbar died holding salim's hand and asking him to take care of everyone in the empire like he did and salim after his father passed away tried his best but he did not have the same capability as his father had and he realized it soon after he was bestowed upon by huge responsibilities..and that is when he realized how great his father was...!
may akabr's soul rest in peace!
