BJP's Delhi Defeat Casts a Shadow on a Wedding in Ahmedabad 😆

haye haye bahu ashubh kadam 😈 like our Daily vamp says 😉

AHMEDABAD: A musical band called to play at the wedding of Jay Shah, BJP chief Amit Shah's son, left without striking a note. And there were no firecrackers when the baraat, or groom's party, arrived at the YMCA Club in Ahmedabad, the venue of the wedding.

With the portent of a BJP rout coming early in the day, Mr Shah, 50, looked visibly upset as he arrived with the baraat around 11.30 a.m. He chose not to speak to journalists waiting at the gate of the club and drove straight in.

The BJP's master strategist is credited with scripting some spectacular electoral successes in the last year for his party, starting with the national elections in May. The BJP has won most state elections in recent months based on canny strategy and micromanagement by Mr Shah

The first major setback to the BJP in months came on a day Mr Shah would have wanted only good tidings. But news from Delhi only got worse for the BJP chief with every passing hour. Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party ended up winning 67 of Delhi's 70 seats, way past even the most generous exit poll prediction.

The BJP, which had scored a perfect seven out of seven Lok Sabha seats in the capital only nine months ago, has won a humiliating three assembly seats in Delhi today.

The wedding in Ahmedabad was a close-knit affair; around 1000 people attended, including corporate bigwigs like Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani and several senior BJP leaders and central ministers like Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari and Piyush Goyal.

Those who attended the traditional Gujarati wedding, said it was not a lavish event. Mr Shah has planned two reception parties, one in Ahmedabad on Thursday and another in Delhi on Sunday.

Jay Shah, who is the secretary of the Gujarat cricket association, has married his friend from the days at Nirma university in Ahmedabad.

Aparna,
No need to become fan of any party or leader. But we can appreciate good work done by any party and leader and similarly criticize them for their bad work and policies.

Upon my part I am not fan of any neither hate any. Use to like them according to their performances. I do not discard even old party which governed country for years. They too made few good policies but did not do any thing to their correct implementation neither they can check corruption widely spread in every field.

I too want a middle path for governance. A Government should think about poor as well as rich both, perhaps more for poor . But it is easy to write this on paper but there must be many contradictions to face on ground realities. Hope they will find a correct balance to benefit all.

I agree that farmers condition is really bad and too much dependent on monsoon and other nature's phenomenons but for this governments of past are more responsible. They toh were considered as middle path , poor oriented governments then why did not farmers, poor's condition improve?
Not sure whether new government will be able to improve their condition or not but we have to give them time first to make policies and then implement those. Change can not be brought in days but it will take time to reach to the last man . After that we can assess progress made by them, be it center or states

Btw I too sincerely wish that AAP this time becomes successful to bring that change in Indian politics they have promised and do good work instead of going for dramatics.

Yeah, One get to know how small he/she is before the enormity of majestic sky laid in front of him/her.

On lighter note , I was very fascinated by sky in my early twenties and used to sit on roof for hours when ever get time. During one of these sittings I caught cold which almost turned into pneumonia. Was on heavy medication for days. Since then I prefer to stay inside and that was end of my star gazing.😆

Same here...😳
This used to be my daily routine.

I learnt a lot about constellations and stars at that time.

I thought , I will invest in a telescope, when I start earning...
and then, I got into PG...then working non stop, with no time, even to look at the sky..marriage...still as busy with work...
even when I'am free now,
this wish of mine is yet to be fulfilled.

@ bold - Absolutely !!!

Anshu - Development cannot come at the cost of agricultural cultivable lands lands acquired from farmers are being given away to build these projects. How right is that?
In a country like ours where so many different religions communities have to live in harmony how can they not respect the rights of the communities who are in a minority?Their rights are being violated and PM doesn't say anything.
He became a PM because minority communities have also voted for him and decided to give a chance to him. What has he done so far about the places of worship which have been vandalised?
He has not even said anything about it.
Christmas day becomes good governance day and don't know what else will happen.
It is not just development people should breath freely and have a sense of freedom too.
Anyways I am done with my rantings I know I am in a minority many ways.
