Ashoka - I liked it in parts mainly for it's technical values.Very beautifully filmed

That transformation of Ashoka and the way he was affected by the war of Kalinga was done very well by SRK

The other movie which I really liked was Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman

&TV launches new fiction show Gangaa'

Premiering on March 2, the show will take 8.30 PM slot every Monday to Friday

The new Hindi General Entertainment Channel &TV' announced the launch of its upcoming show Gangaa which is slated to air starting March 2, Monday to Friday at 8.30 PM.

Produced by Sphereorigins, Gangaa is an inspiring story of a child widow who is characterized with an indomitable spirit and will to survive. Determined to live life to its fullest and claiming what she believes is rightfully hers, Ganga's character personifies the face of New age India - aspirational and resilient. The show brings together an ensemble cast that includes names like Hiten Tejwani (Niranjan Chaturvedi), Sushmita Mukherjee (Kanta Dadi), Rakhi Vijan (Prabha Mami), Gungun Uprari (Madhavi) and Ruhana Khanna (Gangaa) amongst others.

Gangaa, the protagonist of the show, is a fiery young girl with an amazing zest for life. The story explores how the world perceives this child widow who is strong-minded with an undying spirit. She will be seen questioning age old customs of the society and her struggle for survival makes for an endearing and poignant story. Be it the aristocratic Niranjan Chaturvedi, her rescuer and a father figure to her, or striking an equation with the aged grandmother Kanta dadi, who disapproves of her, Gangaa accepts them in her stride

Social family drama with old tradition .. Typical brutal customs work for them

I think both PH and the channel are desperately trying to get another show as big as BV. Hoping to recreate the same magic which they did with BV.

Rangeela to an extent succeeded with Udaan so now PH is repeating a downgraded version of BV with a Bal Vidhwa.

Thing is BV succeeded because when it came into existence there were only saas bahu sagas and this came as something new and fresh.

Udaan is working because of the kids and some excellent performances from Bhaiyaji and Chakor's father and also because most of the Colors viewers watched BV and they shifted to watching Udaan

Channel knows that BV and Udaan viewers are the same kind of people and that's why they bracketed these shows together and now by bringing in Nandini they think they can prolong the show.

but i wonder multiple shows on same theme...how much they will work.

plus this new show Gangaa is starting around the same time when BV will get nandini...both balika vadhus...just that one will be widow...and other we are not yet sure of her state (unless wedding is annulled)

but I as an audience will not really enjoy same theme everywhere ...i guess cruelty to kids and loads of tears and miseries fetch trps these days...😆
