Two conditions have to be satisfied for a spectacle to be created:
1. Bhai has to get drunk. (This appears to be a fairly common occurrence.)
2. He needs to sign-in on Twitter. (This is the usually the bottle-neck encountered on the way to a sterling performance.)

Unfortunately, I tend to agree with Bhai when he puts up such performances on Twitter. When it comes to the death penalty, I don't want anyone to be executed - not even Bhai... ☯️

So, as it goes... this morning, Bhai demanded that Yakub Memon not be executed. In a number of rambling tweets - incoherent and unintelligible - he said so very forcefully. 😆
Then BJP demanded from the governor of Maharashtra to cancel Bhai's bail, on the grounds that the convict Bhai has too much sympathy for other convicts. (Anything and everything passes off as reasonable in India. 😛)
This was followed by Bhai getting a scolding of his life from his papa. Papa *figuratively* blasted the Bhai.
Bhai has now retracted his tweets.

I am now waiting for the Governor of Maharashtra to cancel Bhai's bail (if he can even do that)...

Lol@the above post. 😆 Funny!

This guy is really something. I saw this news yesterday and went through his barrage of tweets. "Tiger Kahaan hai", "tiger nahin, billi hai" 😆, asking Nawaz Sharif to reveal the whereabouts of Tiger Memon😆 etc etc.

This ruckus was totally avoidable but then who can stop Salman Khan? And needless to say, whatever he was trying to say was misunderstood and twisted. I don't think he meant to say that Yakub Memon is innocent. And I quite agree with his sentiment ...that we should drag back and punish the main culprits...who have managed to elude our governments and intelligence agencies for decades now. Hanging Yakub is just displaced aggression..even if it is meant to send a strong message.

In his stupidity (and I imagine, drunken stupor) he has managed to create a controversy where there should be none. He is clearly his own worst enemy.

Now let me tell you why there are all these hugs and smiles. 😆

Your post reminded me of all those countless years when we would wake up early on a weekend just before Diwali...have our tea/milk and get down to coloring all the pots in our garden with geru mitti. 😊Between the four of us...three kids and our dad...we would finish it in a few hours...even though we had way too many plants. And after it all dried up, the planters and pots with the fresh coat of the geru ...below the green foliage...looked so beautiful and absolutely new! Haven't done this in years...😭

It is really funny and amazing...we have a lot in common, huh?! 😊😆

Aaah...one month's leave is good! 😊

Yes, the crackers are a menace...for the stray animals, the sick, the infants and the elderly. And whenever I am in Delhi during Diwali...I notice people have this propensity to burst a whole string of crackers with thousands of these mini bombs...and they go on exploding for minutes at a stretch. That is literally burning up your money, if you ask me. And somehow it tends to start late in the night. 😕 It is unbearable.

We really do have a lot in common! 😆

When I was 9 years old, I was grievously injured a few days before Diwali...
Some imbecile decided to place a tin canister over a bomb that he had just lit up. The shrapnel from that explosion flew into me as I was walking back home from the school bus-stop. I had third degree burns on my face and neck, and for the longest time, my mum was anxious that I'll a permanent scar - but fortunately, that didn't happen.
To think that I almost lost an eye in that accident... ...

As a matter of principle, I am opposed to the death sentence. I was ambivalent even when they executed Kasab... But then, I don't know what will be a suitable alternative...

Good lord! 😲 That's terrible...and would have been so traumatic for all of you. I am glad there is no permanent scar.

We keep hearing about such incidents perpetrated by absolutely insensitive idiots...be it Holi or Diwali. 😕 Iska kyaa ilaaj hai? 🤔

Yeah... It was terrible. There was a large piece of metal that melted into my face on impact, and not understanding what had happened, in panic, I pulled it off and pulled off my skin with it.
Fortunately my mother was at home, and I got immediate medical attention... I was a mess. That evening, my brother (four years younger, and only just a child then) saw me and started crying. 😳

The guy who set off the bomb was one of the many servants in our neighbour's home. Once my injuries were dressed up, my mother complained to the neighbours, filed a police report when the neighbours refused to rein in their domestic help, and followed it up by calling the police every time when fireworks would be set off from our neighbour's home... But this was all futile. Every time my mother called, a constable would come, spout off the usual: "Madam, Diwali hai... etc... etc..."; probably pick up a bribe from the neighbour, and would saunter away...
A few years later, a woman whose daughter got killed in Diwali accident petitioned the Supreme court to place restrictions on fireworks during Diwali. In its ruling, the supreme court banned fireworks after 10 pm; and restricted their use to just the evening of Diwali. But who cares about this? Not the citizens. Not the police.

Diwali and Holi come with their well-known problems... from what I have heard, apparently the indiscriminate bursting of fireworks has slowly crept into the celebrations of Christmas and Guru Nanak's birthday too.
Traditionally, the scriptures only speak of lamps being lit for Diwali (how the fireworks became an inseparable part of the Diwali festivities, IDK)... and I fear, 50 years from now, Indians will be setting off fireworks for everything...

APJ Abdul Kalam has passed away. 😔
I know very little about the presidents before SD Sharma, but from the little I have read, I can say that APJ was probably the only president of the republic whom I really admired. Perhaps, his only decision that I disagreed with was when he rejected the mercy petition of Dhanjoy Chatterjee - but who does not make mistakes?

I wish they'd have elected him for an extra term...

@last line: I think it is already happening. People burst a load ...L-O-A-D...of crackers at midnight to usher in the New Year now. 🤔 Of course, many festivals too are being marred by this cracker bursting spree. I have seen ppl doing it before starting off with the baraat, during the wedding procession etc.

Senseless. As if that is the ultimate way of expressing your joy?!

The 10pm deadline exists but hardly anyone pays heed to it. There is also a similar restriction for playing loud music/noise pollution but who cares. Every so often you can be sure of spending a sleepless night because someone is dancing away to a DJ or having a religious function etc.

Kudos to your mom for taking the pain of calling the police multiple times. We have done that once but didn't repeat it seeing the disinterest and the "chalta hai...Diwali hai" attitude of the police. 😕

I was very sad the entire day yesterday after hearing about him passing away. 😔 I have read his books, followed him for many years and he was an absolute exception in our political circles. Untouched by the clout his position held. There are some amazing stories about his utter simplicity, humility and wonderful nature..not to mention how approachable he was. Not just a rubber stamp President.

I don't exactly remember why he rejected that mercy petition.

But yes, I wish he would have had one more term. And I don't think we will ever have a person like him gracing any of the the high Consitutional posts.
