It is only for 2 days, GG... Friday ko they'll finally throw him in prison, and phir at least poora weekend he'll rot in there...

What is leaving me breathless is the stupidity and callousness that his Bollywood friends and admirers are showing... Anybody who drives when he is drunk is a douche. He only - and ONLY JUST - just deserves our contempt. Why people continue to shower their adulation on this criminal is beyond me...
The mills of justice have ground slowly in this case (and have not really ground too well - sirf 5 saal???) but it is about time this fellow is made to atone for his sins. The shamelessness with which they propped up a proxy to take the blame at the last minute is shocking.
But abhi toh black bucks ke case mein bhi sazaa milegi... ... So, perhaps we'll never see a 50+ Salman Khan romancing the younger starlets anymore... 😆😆

@Bold: Seriously! This argument annoys me no end.
We've seen this guy and his arrogance on TV. He is an unforgiving egomaniac. Such people are incapable of true charity. [I know people who are genuinely charitable, and how much money they give away and what they do to help the poor and needy - they do it all in silence and humility.]
Where was this man's charity when he propped up his driver to take the blame for him, huh? What charitable man will fail to own up to his sins and show such cowardice?

Abhi bail proceedings are running... Probably the fellow is going to get let off...

His sentence got suspended. 🥱😕 What a joke! Efffin joke!?? A common man would have been shipped off to jail that same day...forget about getting interim bail within three hours of a judgement...and then the icing on the cake...a couple of days later...his appeal is accepted and sentence suspended pending a hearing!!!

😡😡

Kwerky, thank you very much for the effort you put in to type down this list... 🤗

I sent off the Dabbey wala with "Lootera" in a pen-drive. So, that he'll enjoy on his own. The next movie he and I will watch together (whenever that will be) will have to be "Barfi". 😳
But I should systematically follow your list and watch "A Wednesday"... Uskey baad, I will watch "lagaan"...

@The Lunchbox: I have watched it. Was okay, in my opinion too. Kinda mediocre... Was also baffled when I read all the glowing reviews... 😕

BTW - what did you think about "Maalamaal weekly" and "Welcome to Sajjanpur"?

My pleasure, Wisu...🤗

I actually liked "Welcome to Sajjanpur"...quite a nice satire there. "Malaamaal Weekly"...ummm...just ok for me...😆...don't remember it very clearly but the treatment/comedy didn't really appeal to me at that time. I think "Hera Pheri" was the best movie made by this director...Paresh Rawal was a scream! 😆

I just remembered another one - "Do Dooni Chaar"..came out a few years back. Do watch it if you can get your hands on it. I really liked it...it is based on a family in Delhi...and the way they have sketched the characters/middle class mannerisms...it is so apt! I could totally see a glimpse of some of my teachers in Rishi Kapoor's character.

i always liked him and have applauded his charity works...but now i have been seriously doubting his charity works...at every court proceeding his lawyers use charity cards for his bail... n if u think about it, his charity works only started after him getting involved in many law breaking charges...he was probably advised by it by his lawyers to do so..n i feel many of charity works r highlighted by media with some intention...even the accident victim has said salman khan has never helped him...so kaheka charity? 😡
this just reminded me of one claim where one poor women was angry that media wrote about how salman khan helped her but shehere claimed he never did but was only to click photo with her 😲..paid controlling media i tell 🤢...uff n i see his fans praying for him 🤢🤢🤢...when will people be capable of differentiating a convict and celeb i never know 🤢🤢🤢,,,chalo good for them their prayers got answered in the cost of justice ...hope it is not ultimate decession though 😔

This upsets me so much. There is no justice for the common man in our country. 😡😡
There are news reports of the criminal returning home to a lavish celebration. Celebration! 😲😲😡

And then, I just read this news item:
A rally in support of Salman Khan on Marine Drive on May 10, 2015?

Within minutes of the verdict, reactions began pouring in from his friends and colleagues on various social networking platforms. Now, according to reports a rally is being planned by Salman's fans in support of the star. The rally will reportedly take place on Marine Drive in Mumbai. A special hashtag #IStandWithSalmanKhan has been created on Twitter and there are reports that various Bollywood stars like Varun Dhawan and Pulkit Samrat will be seen attending the rally.

GG, this is just crazy. These people have not understood/experienced the realities of life. Apney par beetegi kabhi, toh they'll know...
The extent of how prevalent the lack of empathy is among these imbeciles is shocking... or, maybe it is just that some silly teenagers with nothing better to do are flooding the social media landscape with their pro-criminal opinions... Who knows...

Today, apparently one of his fans tried to commit suicide outside the Bombay High Court. I say (and even as this breaches my professional duty to save human life), aisey fan ko toh mar jaanaa chahiye. Uska zindaa rehnaa will serve no purpose in this world, and according to the Indian law - he has committed a crime by attempting suicide, so if he is saved from death, he'd end up rotting in jail (instead of the criminal he so ardently loves).

BTW... many, many years ago, this poem was being forwarded around in e-mails...

Death of an Innocent

I went to a party, Mom,
I remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom,
So I drank soda instead.

I really felt proud inside, Mom,
The way you said I would.
I didn't drink and drive, Mom,
Even though the others said I should.

I know I did the right thing, Mom,
I know you are always right.
Now the party is finally ending, Mom,
As everyone is driving out of sight.

As I got into my car, Mom,
I knew I'd get home in one piece.
Because of the way you raised me,
So responsible and sweet.

I started to drive away, Mom,
But as I pulled out into the road,
The other car didn't see me, Mom,
And hit me like a load.

As I lay there on the pavement, Mom,
I hear the policeman say,
"The other guy is drunk," Mom,
And now I'm the one who will pay.

I'm lying here dying, Mom...
I wish you'd get here soon.
How could this happen to me, Mom?
My life just burst like a balloon.

There is blood all around me, Mom,
And most of it is mine.
I hear the medic say, Mom,
I'll die in a short time.

I just wanted to tell you, Mom,
I swear I didn't drink.
It was the others, Mom.
The others didn't think.

He was probably at the same party as I.
The only difference is, he drank
And I will die.

Why do people drink, Mom?
It can ruin your whole life.
I'm feeling sharp pains now.
Pains just like a knife.

The guy who hit me is walking, Mom,
And I don't think it's fair.
I'm lying here dying
And all he can do is stare.

Tell my brother not to cry, Mom.
Tell Daddy to be brave.
And when I go to heaven, Mom,
Put "Daddy's Girl" on my grave.

Someone should have told him, Mom,
Not to drink and drive.
If only they had told him, Mom,
I would still be alive.

My breath is getting shorter, Mom.
I'm becoming very scared.
Please don't cry for me, Mom.
When I needed you,
you were always there.

I have one last question, Mom.
Before I say good bye.
I didn't drink and drive,
So why am I the one to die?

Aaj our courts have outdone themselves. Jayalalita has no disproportionate assets. 😳
