I was leaning more towards the character of the "Saas"...I thought Reema Lagoo was wayyy too cute in that series. Together these two were hilarious...I love Supriya Pilgaonkar as an actress...

I did catch a few episodes of the sequel..."Kadvi Khatti Meethi"...but it didn't match up to the original series...though wasn't bad on its own.
