And yes a show like SSK doing 1000 episodes just shows pathetic standards of TV now.

Today I watched an interview of a TV producer/director on SBS and he made a good comment on how we should not just give to public what they want but also give what we want. He was totally against TRP system.

Poor guys get gagged.

TRP system ought to get changed. But you need a channel willing to do that. How does anyone get 1000 episodes without cutting corners I don't know. It's an amazing feat but sometimes the repetitive elements are just thrust into the foreground. P.S If anyone asks me a questions and I don't reply it is because I am reading the previous threads lol. :)

hercule poirot stories start a little slow but the plot is the king..u cnt put it down wen u start..the best of those was death on the nile and murder on the orient express..movies made on both in 1980s...and awesome to watch even now..books are incomparable if course..
in death series is one which though is a bestseller, not commonly known to many, so will give u a short summary..its a futuristic crime thriller series based on Lt. Eve Dallas, chief of homicide in 2060s, in NY..she is a kickass cop who has the capacity to verbally chew down her suspects and bad or negligent cops..she had a traumatic childhood, found in an alley with blood all over her at the age of 8, with signs of physical and sexual abuse..she remembers nothing of her past at the start, and gradually pieces it together through the series..she was given her name "eve dallas" by a social worker, and became a cop to make tht name stand for all innocents..sex crimes are toughest for her in the series, coz she goes back into her past, reliving nightmares, but she stands for the dead..she hates socialising, but reluctantly builds a circle of friends through the series, including her partner, the criminal psychiatrist, her trainer, her husbands friends and so on..she meets her husband in the first book who is a suspect, was previously a thief and currently is the richest man on planet(a little overdramatic, but u fall for him anyway) he also had a traumatic childhood, but built his empire single-handedly..eve makes an honest man out of him and their love story has the awesome aspect of not being sappy at all..😆
there are sum 49 books till date in the series, and u shud start from the first "NAKED IN DEATH"..first is kinda boring, but gives a good headstart..second onwards, i was hooked..give it a read, u wnt regret it..

poirot!!!!! oh you belgian truffle! loved the TV series! 😆

Sometimes I wish I could club people on the head! 😡

If he had married one then maybe we could work it out. I wonder if he knew who was his favourite. At least Genghis Khan had one favourite but do not get me started on that man!

IF is now making rules against cartoons. I hope EHT forum remains lax. 😆 I want freedom to make memes when I want to. 😛

Guys do you think if soaps weren't set in a daily format then they would be better?
I mean all the award winning shows are all seasonal so that block a of 20 + epis are made with a tight script, crisp dialogue and no chance of deviating from the main concept.
Do you think EHT would have fared better this way? Obviously it would have ultimately ended when Durga had taken down the Goenka's; but we could have watched or rather relished her meticulously ticking off all the perpetrators guilty of hurting and betraying Payal.
We could have had a few seasons where in each one several key players such as the fake witnesses and Shuraya's filthy friends were taken out by a revengeful Durga. Hell show makers might have even have been able to introduce a decent romance track which could have gradually built up

@ Arya lol I love GOT. True it is disturbing with some of its scenes but there are true W*F moments in there that keep you hooked. The acting is fab, the locations where scenes are shot are beautiful, and plot itself like I said and millions of other fans worldwide will testify is rammed with twists and turns.

@ suki

absolutely agree about shorter seasons with tight script. it brings out the creativity to be able to show lots of progress within a short amount of time; each season with a focus of some sort.

I really had wished Dev did not come in. I was so excited about seeing Durga so capably taking each character down and wanted to see how she managed to nab sakshi. but alas no. it was not to be. now i must entertain the scene in my head.

also about the FF thing. I wish the concept of consummation scene was never introduced. it was never ever necessary at all. adds very little to the plot that something else could not. which probably had worked better.

All I know is that dailies ruined TV.

Weekly format had story to talk of. Actors also gave their best as they had time.

But Aruna Irani killed story even in weekly format with her Des mein nikla hoga chand.
