Happy Navratri to everyone celebrating 🤗

Navratri used to be pretty big celebration for me growing up coz I had a ton of Gujju friends and while everyone looked forward to naach ganaa and decking up my main attraction was mostly the food😃.

As my hubby often teases me MOST of my memories have to in some way or the other come back to the food, I could go to the most exquisite place and while others would remember X,Y or Z i would almost always remember the restaurant we went to or special meal we had😆😆.

The one thing I really miss here in the US is good thali, unfortunately I haven't had it anywhere here except once at Vatan in NYC

The concert was good 😊. It was basically the HNY team on tour in the US promoting the movie and quite frankly they need bumper promotions coz the promos have been quite lacklustre..

Anyways the star of the stage really was SRK; at close to 50 he was the most energetic and enthusiastic of the lot. He is a complete showman and entertainer and single handedly gave you your money's worth👏👏. He was witty, engaged the crowd and kept them entertained both with his words and performance and was very gracious in his praise for the others artists. Plus he has a great legacy of some super hit songs and I'm so glad they had a good mix of new and old melodies that he grooved to⭐️⭐️.

Deepika is stunning but kinda stiff, AB was just thakela for lack of a better word and I can't believe Malaika Arora is a mother of 2 grown boys. She looked and danced as gracefully as she did eons back in Chaiyya Chaiyaa! Farah han & Boman Irani were slapstick and totally avoidable😳.

The show started a little over an hour late, which I believe is not bad given IST but was overall well organized and they had a really good chaat counter😆😆. It was a vibrant and colorful atmosphere with all the desis having gathered in their multi-colored outfits to kick off the festive season😛

Instead it seems as if she is trying to figure out if the ML had onion or garlic for lunch🤔

Today's Epi of humsafars reminded me of those days of ipk when I used to wait for rm scenes...nani Anjali n manorama...no one was irritating, esp Anjali...I loved to watch them...same with the new show today...really liked today's supporting cast scenes...but know too well, very soon...she will make everything go down the drain...also, few things need to be done stat...no white trousers for harshad, esp ones which are not the right length...n may I say not everyone looks dreamy in white shirt...so please...avoid...shivya is a fast learner...I liked her act today...esp her dialogue delivery was much better...of course, the walk down the stairs, quietly, with a raised eyebrow n scowl firmly in place of harshad were almost like rewatching ipk...

P.s. Gul forgot to copy the best character from zgh...kashaf's ammi...I mean her acting, her dialogues were something else only...she was not just about including her disloyal husband in her life...her advice to her daughters was v v real...that is definitely missing here...unfortunately ...coz that was the good part...this character takes more after garima of ipk, who was not a v pleasing character, for me...

Episode 4 and Salman Khan reference - check😈, seriously what is with the lau for the actor?? The family scenes were done well without being melodramatic.

Leaving her hair completely free suits Shivya, another pretty outfit combination.

In other news, caught up with Sushant's poster for Dhoni and reading up on comments saying it is too early for a biopic on Dhoni. That triggered memories of Bodyline, the BBC mini series that aired long time back. Anybody watched it? Hugo Weaving turned in a masterful performance in that one😃

For years, Douglas Jardine, with his knotted scarf, and snide half-smiles, defined villainy in my mind😆 I used to be so outraged on behalf of Bradman...*shakes head* Hugo was indeed masterful in that role, Savs...absolutely marvelous !!
