VD ,Arjun, Sid have proved themselves on boxoffice ... SSR movie is risky he need to leave impact and DBB need to be atleast hit bec SSR is first outsider and second these 3 have become popular in young audience dont want SSR to be what many say lost

I think Paani is on track Anshi.. I came across few tweets.. they didn't point to anything of great importance or say anything conclusively (that is why I didn't post them) but they just gave the idea that things are moving on when it comes to Paani.. YRF has big plans for this movie, especially when it comes to designing, graphics etc.

^^ This is big risk u know sometimes i feel Adi feels Sushant in him to be big and thus is guiding him like SRK and i understand elusiveness but ssometimes get worried ...

^I feel YRF is prepping Sushant to be the lambi race ka ghoda, someone who can fit in both commercial and critical space- all the films offered to him till now seem to have that fine balance, and even Sushant seems to prefer that kind of films only. They have realised now that it's not just money making which matters- film festivals, overseas markets, overseas credibility, critical acclaim, Indie films etc. are also important as they gain appreciation abroad and gets international investors interested in our cinema- see how well Lunchbox did abroad? That is why they roped in Dibakar Banerjee for three films and backed SDR so strongly, else who would have thought few years back that YRF would spend money and back a small film like Titli, with no famous actors, internationally?

And it's not just YRF, other production houses have also become like that. Dharma is co-producing films with Phantom, UTV has been backing good small films for some time now. Guneet Monga works with Anurag Kashyap and has taken his work internationally, same with Irrfan Khan.

yeah today Irfaan does has lots of credibility nationally and internationally .. much more than many famous one

And it's not just Sushant, I think YRF seems to have a unique strategy for each of his actors. For example: Ranveer is being cast in films with a masala touch/OTT drama. They might be aiming to make him the hero for the masses.

Arjun as the macho hero I think.. except 2 states all his roles have been rugged and grey shaded.. even in FF.. now with Tevar also..

Not a bad strategy, they are going along with the personality and physical attributes as well as personal preferences of the actors..

ya that is their but i want Sushant to do full fledged romantic movie shortcut to get fans
