Hoarding is something that is not easy to crack...because we d not have coputerized or even accounted in books system for crop production and distribution.

But the big question is - does it even make sense to hoard perishable items?

I know we can make onion powder but it will never taste the same as a fresh onion. Same with other veggies. I should know, I used frozen bhindi for 10+ years.

Hoardings - true what you say, but the products that Govt. purchases for PDS, even if the quantities ontained and distribution are tallied, there would be a huge gap. Main hoardings and diversions happen with the PDS goods. Govt, can make a start there. If even a few are prosecuted, the others will automatically fall in line.

Even unperishable ones perish due to improper storage. Last year there were so many reports on how wheat was rotting in godowns, while people were dying of hunger.

Onion powder and frozen bhindi for more than 10 years. One of the reasons you will be feeling glad to be back.

India, may not be the best, but has its USPs. Next, time I will add bhindi too to it.
