The problem is that such wafer thin stories like finding love later in life are not supposed to be stretched to infinity. But bechare Sony ka kya hoga - BALH and CID are pretty much the only two shows that are holding them afloat. All their recent launches have dismal ratings.

BALH has been pretty much down in ratings for a long while now, its one of the reasons it may end in May. Don't even talk about RAM's BD, u can guess from 1 mile distance. RK & ST appear on sets for only 15 days in a month, rest of the days its BD's who cover the show. RK takes more leaves in addition to this 15 day period because of his movie shootings.. So its a living horror. Its the reason, they tried to focus on the younger generation in the leap hoping it would kick off like Pavitra Rishta but that backfired.

Now, again a new leap happened just focusing back on Ram-Priya, another leap is happening next week or something.

Currently ... Sony's top shows (w.r.ratings) -

CID, Crime Patrol, Maharana Pratap, Ek Nayi Pehchaan, BALH, Jee Le Zara, Nandini, Mein Naa Bhoolungi

Thank you so much for recommending "Ru baru". I watched all the episodes and I am definitely hooked to the show. Yay! It's funny how you watched it asap and I am sooo glad you are enjoying the show. I am recommending this one to everyone. When I showed you the promos I left out the Taz/Neelum/wife(what's her name in the show?) just so you can have a little surprise upon watching. I left out the OST too but I will show it to you now since it's really good. Incidentally, it was that promo which I saw first and I had no interest in it but the minute I found out Faizan was the lead, I ran and watched his promos and episode 1.

Sharmad is a psycho. A weirdo. A schizophrenic. Really creepy. His mood swings freak me out. I won't say I love this character because obviously he has a lot of issues. I don't really understand the concept of making the children pay for their parents' mistakes. But Shabi is dealing the situation quite maturely. She didn't lose her head and is trying her best to find a silver lining in this situation. It is obvious that Sarmad is not unaffected by her no matter what he says. The way he rushed towards her when she had that asthama attack. And even before that when he tries his mind to block her images but is unable to do so. Sarmad is a lunatic. What makes it even creepier is the fact that he is a normal, decent guy in front of everyone else. On top of that his acting is soo good that it's all so believable. Now you know why he is the way he is. Shabi I think is definitely in love with him, before the wedding, when she heard that he was taking her shopping she got so happy and then her concern for him. Sarmad too is affected by her. The way he snapped out of it and ran for her puffer and before that when he had the adorable smile on his face after she took out clothes for him in an earlier episode.

That scene where he howls after declaring how Shabi had apparently ruined his love life and how she is the reason for his break up with Neha, the love of his life, Shabi wants to comfort him in spite of being hurt herself yet unable to offer any comfort because she knows it will not be welcomed. I thought the last episode was great especially the photo revelation scene. Faizan's (Sarmad) acting was top-notch. He was so immersed in that moment. First he gets angry (when he looks up at her with the scary face, I was like freaked out because shit was about to go down). Then his monologue. I snapped the minute he started crying saying the "taraptay huwe, taraste, sisakte" line. He cried so well there my heart was breaking. Then he got angry again while showing the pictures and then he starts crying. This guy can change his emotions at the snap of a finger. I think the scene required more from Shabi, I wasn't feeling her until the asthma attack.

Kiran is so annoying. I don't know why we have annoying secondary characters. Tipu is a sweetheart. Why does he put up with her boggles my mind. I am just wondering if there will be more to Tipu and Kiran's story or else they need to get rid of Kiran. I dunno how Tipu had fallen in love with a brat like her. She is after Shabi for no reason. The poor girl minds her own business usually keeps to herself in her room or her studio. She was so jealous when she saw the jewellery Sarmad had sent for Shabi. I loved Tipu's dialogue to her when she complained about the jewellery.

Now for Taz and Neelum. I think if somebody is to be blamed it is Taz. He is the one who deceived two women who loved him: his wife and Neelum. He had no business encouraging the love/ affection of a woman who was not only younger than him but also was his student. He is a responsible man. I seriously don't understand why me cheat. He had such a beautiful wife at home, a woman who loved him. A wonderful family. He goes and ruins it by chasing a woman who is way too younger than him. Both of them are to be blamed equally. Neelum is spoiled because she refuses to listen to any advice, she will do whatever she pleases. Taimoor on the other hand is an intelligent, family man, why did he ever choose to reciprocate and have an affair when he has a pretty, loving wife and a sweet son at home is beyond me.

I really don't find any faults with Neelum. No I don't blame her. We all have been infatuated with our professors. I definitely was. His son was my classmate at the Uni. And all the girls who joined the department ended up having huge crushes on the professor. In fact I had a crush on two of my professors. So yes, I guess it is perfectly normal to have a crush on your teacher/ professor. The problem arises when instead of ignoring this infatuation, or taking it casually, the person decides to reciprocate the feelings.Specially if you are married man with a family. One has no business of ruining so many lives. Like I said above, Neelum is someone who seems to only care about herself so yeah half the blame lies with her.

Cheating is disgusting. It is unforgivable, in my opinion.

Umz, looking forward to discussing the show with you. If you come across any other good show let me know please.

BTW, Sharmad is quite handsome not in FK way. But quite attractive. Rugged. The girl playing Shabi is cute too. I like her as Neelum rather than as Shabi. I am obsessed with Faizan, he is unconventionally good looking. One of those guys who looks average in pictures but once you see him on screen you are like damn he is a hottie! Plus, he does intense and brooding so well and is the best actor from the newer lot. Syra (Shabi) is a pretty girl but a weak actress, I am finding that she brings down the quality of the scenes she has with Faizan. He is so into his character while I feel her expressions are the same. Shabi is not a uni-dimensional character she needs to portray it better. She is better as Neelum but I would really like to be able to connect to Shabi better. However, Faizan and Syra look so good together. Btw. Shabi's older mamu (with the glasses) is her real life father-in-law and Neelum's friend is her real life younger sister.

I am waiting for the story to unfold. Finally found something to watch after Numm.

P.P.S : I think Sharmad's dad, Taz is pretty hot. Definitely charming and very, very attractive. No wonder Neelum fell like a ton of hot bricks. Taz is played by Adnan Siddiqui who is a famous actor, been in the industry for a long time. I have never liked him but in the past couple of years he has grown on me especially because he has aged really well. That salt/pepper hair looks so good.

I might be sounding like khap panchayat type but fact is Hindi and other regional languages and English is taking over and I don't think English medium education is reason as I myself have studied in English medium but I can speak both Hindi and Gujarati and can write and read Gujarati without learning language so it would be nice if Indian languages are also preserved as it gives a feeling of oneness

True Vyas, its hard to find kannada speaking people in Bangalore, except for certain areas and rickshaw drivers. I always speak my language , when I am there, and sometimes force people who dont want to speak kannada who work in the malls. Its sad.

Well over here, the Tamils speak Tamil, the Punjabis speak Punjabi, Chinese speak Mandarin, Cantonese etc. Gujaratis speak Gujarati, Urdu-speaking speak Urdu. What I am saying is that basically everyone here can speak their mother language and speak it with their parents and elders. Same is the case with me, I am fluent in a few languages and I speak them with elders while with my siblings and everyone else I speak in English. Many people who are born here can also speak languages other than English do speak in them.

I guess in India and such there is an inferiority complex. They have this thing of projecting an image which is not their own. It's a wanna be culture. While people who are say Canadian, American, British, etc. they are just being who they are yet still trying to retain their roots or their parents roots.

And another fascinating thinking and maybe disturbing thing is to see school children carry iPhones and other gadgets to school well I guess it is sign of times as I did not have cellphone till first year of engineering and I am already feeling like old prick though It is not that long when I was growing up maybe 7-8 years I guess time is moving quickly

Vyas i agree on Cell phone point and other things related to amount the young ones spend or expect to be spent...

I clearly remember a incident in my school when i was in 8th or 9th class...I was the shortest in class (still am :P) and my PT teacher promised me that he would help me in growing my height and it would cost Rs: 2000 per month for growth of 2 cms every two months.
He went on to convince me by asking would i not get a dress for that much if i like and in promptly replied no...i don't think wearing that much costly dress is ok!!!

Today my younger cousins are all so casual about money...my cousin who in his college and has not yet graduated buys a new updated phone every year and his sister who has not yet sat for boards wants designer dresses wear...claiming i am middle class girl whose parents are government employees and so to maintain standard with my peers i want designer wear...and as per her "middle class" will have four Wheeler etc etc

She casually says dad its only 40 lakhs why don't you buy that car!!!

I raise my eyebrows in shock...and sometimes feel guilty when i comment on their casualness!!!
Many a occasions like probably my earlier generation i end up commenting how these kids do not know the value of money...etc.
