Actor Iqbal Khan, who has not participated in a single reality shows till now, wants to be known only for his acting

TWO MUCH FUN
Actor Iqbal Khan started his acting career almost a decade back and even now the actors is getting offers to play a lead in serials. Though Iqbal credits all his success so far to "Allah", he says he is there to work on his own terms and conditions. Iqbal was last seen in the serial Teri Meri Love Stories and when the serial ended, the actor took a break of few months despite many offers in his kitty for a valid reason. "I have been very consistent with my breaks. I don't want the audience to get bored of me seeing me on screen for a long time. It is good to take big breaks on TV and not work continuously. The audience is excited if they see their favourite actor making a comeback after sometime in some other serial," says Iqbal, who was in Lucknow to promote Tumhaari Pakhi. He adds, "Also, I was not that keen to take up projects for sometime also because of my daughter. I have had a fantastic time with her. She is two now. It is funny that my wife used to tell me that am I mad to say no to so many serials? But I had my priorities clear... I wanted to be with my daughter."

REALITY RULES ON TV
Iqbal has done a lot of serials as leads. Ask him about not many serials being able to make a mark on screen and he says, "There might be many serials churning out today on TV, but frankly speaking it is a better time now." Ask him how and he adds, "Performances of actors today are a little more real. Creatively the industry is growing. There is very less of copying these days, especially as far as characters are concerned. I remember there was a time when every second guy on TV was an angry young man and a man of few words. The herd mentality is slowing taking a back seat."

GET REAL? NAAH!
But one herd mentality that is still there among TV actors today is that of working in reality shows. But Iqbal says he isn't part of that too. "I haven't done a single reality show. I don't say that I will never do a reality show, but as of now I haven't done any, neither have plans to do one. In any reality show, even a dance, your personal emotions are bound to come up, why do it? I want to entertain people with my acting and not with my personal life. My life is my life man!" says the actor.
