@Psy : I'm following it on and off when there are scenes for mulgi's parents...even i liked them...my neighbor follows it and she'll update me on the parents...she just watches it bcoz she wants to know how much they have copied from the original...and she kinda has a soft corner for mulga and mulgi...(not together but each separately)...now in process to hate them...

In all this when i saw once mulgi has got a decent living and they are not shown as struggling for money which kinda felt nice for me...bcoz 80% shows have female lead having money problem and end up being doll to whatever the ML says...hope they show strong parents for the girl...at least one nayi soch!!!!!

Yes I agree with you on Mulgi's parents. The actors are doing fab job and for once, the mulgi's family is not in dire need of money. I so hated these twisted scenes shown in IPK - one where Khushi accepts to come back to RM even after Arnav insults her with money because just moments earlier, she talked to her dad and came to know about financial problems of the family. But still the dad has to wind up everything in Lucknow and come to Delhi. Wonder what happened to the money that Arnav kept on the table. At least I don't think those scenes would be here in this show but who knows what they show next.

When it come to loopholes in the script IPK had many...but the characters are neatly sketched and the backdrop was built gr8 initially to bypass all the loopholes...I often wonder how the writing team forgets some of the important aspects on a story...some small small details which are so important on the flow...anyway pata nahi how the business runs in real so cant say much...

Coming back to EBP...it has noting strong from the very first episode...Only thing that was good to have a good living standard and sensible parents for the FL ...FL is slowly getting her character and she plays it good though the writing of character is very much pathetic...lets see if it picks up after the intial 50 / 60 episodes...Behna was good for the first 50 or so episodes once the elder pair got married in went down rail...may be here it may happen opposite also...

If this show has any strengths, then it is the character actors.

Saradaji, whether it is pleasant to watch or not, financial insecurity and poverty is very real. And there are girls like Khushi in this world, who though not exactly without a roof over their heads, yet have to worry about making large financial outlays for events such as weddings. The scene you talk about was today's episode...and I was just about to make a post on it.

I accept that girls like khushi do exist but the aukat dialogue from the ML and putting them in a very tough situation again and again stating only the financial issues is little regressive for me...i know a girl who has nothing, her fater left her mom and her and ran away...her mom made her study by doing household works...she just got a basic degree ...but she has her life so put and now she is taking care of her mom and her life...with her front desk assistant in a doctors office...She is so sincere the Dr now making her study by post ...all i want is i want to show women strong (which will never happen in indian tv) and not to treat them bad telling their status again and again

Tulip, I see your point and am totally with you as far as the dignity of a girl is concerned, rich and poor. Everyone likes to live with their head held high and as you mention in your example, the girl is also doing the same.

And as far as I could see, Khushi did the same. She always worked to earn and never asked anybody for charity. IMHO, Khushi was one of the few, or perhaps only, strong female lead that I have seen on Indian TV. ASR, on the other hand, did call her a gold digger again and again, and insulted her repeatedly in the first part of the show, but that was not Khushi's fault. He was a complete jerk, and deep down wasfighting his attraction to her. All of these issues were his problems, not Khushi's.

On that note, and heartfelt Rabba Ve to all

If I think back now, I think the only one thing that I actually didn't like in IPK was the contrived situations that the script writers wrote for Khushi to work under ASR or with ASR. I agree that there are people who are like Khushi in the world, I myself can say I am from a very middle class household. But the situations in IPK were tad exaggerated and logic boatwa went missing completely during this ASR - Khushi meeting scenes. Like Khushi accepts the money but still dad has to give up everything and come to Delhi. And then Dad has suspicion on Shyam but he never volunteers to take his girls away. It is just that the scriptwriters wanted to make Khushi as weak as they wanted so that she will be cornered and then Shyam and ASR can play their cards. That thing irked me like anything during the IPK season 1. I am not saying that the same thing can't be shown here in EBP. If my gut instinct is true, the Shlok-Aastha marriage is also going to be because Aastha will be forced and part of it may be due to father suddenly going into problems. That if this show avoids, I will be happy but there is no other way Aastha - Shlok marriage can happen.
