Vistaa ji, my story is thoda complicated. Was born in the North. Stayed in North, South, East, West. Which means I talk about special memories of all places India. 😃

Dad in the Services? 😊
The pain of moving notwithstanding, that really is the best way to grow up in a diverse country like India. My Dad was a firm believer in the travel being the best education; so we did visit the South, Bombay and some parts of the East a number of times...but growing up at a place is another matter altogether. I think I envy you...😃

Not in the Service but something like that 😊
I did not mind the moving bit at all (since it was Mom and Dad who had to deal with that part). Used to look forward to every move, new places, new friends - probably because Mom and Dad use to make it sound so much fun.
Now as a grown up, things I miss are - not having that one chaddi buddy, or holding on to that one physical thing from my childhood. Friends were left behind, letters were exchanged and then as things progressed letters also dwindled. Maa being the practical one and space being premium during the move everything that was not being used was given away. So yeah sometimes when my Arnav ji talks about his childhood, I feel this little pinch but then he feels the same way when I talk about my childhood, which means we are even 😆
Having said all that, I loved it all and would not trade it for anything.

It was my fav. time of the year too. Used to love it. We would get a month off from school which meant there was no pressure to study and mom would let us be way late in to the night. There were pandal to be decorated, dance/play performances to prepare for, prasad to be made and distributed, fine clothes to wear. So much fun!! 😃

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to everyone who is celebrating. May the 'sukh karta dukh harta' one bring just that for you and your family. 🤗

Eyyy bhi which school and part of the country gave you a month of for Ganpati and bhyys was i not living there😆.
We used to just get the visarjan day off but my dad's company used to have a big idol and huge celebration for all 9-10 days and the factory workers used to get together and arrange a big feast every day. Unfortunately the factory was too far from home, else i would be a permanent guest there😳

All that discussion about Ganesh chaturthi, brings back so many childhood memories. Those were the days. Being from poona, visiting all the pandals with the cool decorations, was the highlight of those 10 days. One thing I feel bad about is that the kids never got to experience that, the whole festive atmosphere in India. Oh well...

Vee , welcome back. Dior and Fendi bags??? Oooh, what fun.

J, I read the WU of EBP (yes, I have lot of free time on my hand ). Couldn't understand a thing, other than the fact that both M-:@ and M-O are awfully / illogically hard headed.

BTW, what episode are we watching today? I will watch it online, so can post.
