Film world prejudiced against TV actors: Sushant Singh Rajput

It is now well-known that Deepika Padukone has been selected to star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Farha Khan's next film Happy New Year. Katrina Kaif was also a contender so was TV actress Ankita Lokhande of Pavitra Rishta fame, who is going steady with actor Sushant Singh Rajput, a former TV actor himself.
When asked for his reaction to his girlfriend losing out a role in a coveted film, Sushant said, "I knew that Ankita was being considered for the role. I feel that there is a lot of prejudice against TV actors in the film world. I have gone through it myself."
He added, "I am sure it must have been painful to face rejection but the fact that she was considered for such a big opportunity is a big thing in itself." According to Sushant Ankita is not actively looking towards making a career in films for now.
About himself the actor who shot to fame with his debut film Kai Po Che! this year says, "If tomorrow I am not offered good work in films and I come across something exciting on TV then I will take that up. Before television I was doing theatre for five years and if I am offered something challenging in theatre than I will gladly take that up. My love for performing arts overrides the medium in which I have to perform. I may even make a short film and choose to act in that."
