actually, emotional scenes can go terribly wrong if the actor overdoes it or simply will not touch if the actor underperforms.. .it needs that right balance of tugging of heart and yet, not making the audience shrink back at the grief. Boy, acting IS tough!
Comedy is even tougher. The more seriously you take it, the better you can make the audience laugh. on television, i havent really come across any hero with a sense of comic timing. actually sanaya is the only one i have seen whose comic timing is really fantastic. she has that balance of self-deprecation as well as throwing the laughter in the audience' face.
