just wanted to share a short interesting take on Mr Darcy...many shades of ASR in the description of this alpha male in this article

I copy paste the most interesting lines:

He was very rich. He was proud and disdainful, an alpha male who was satisfyingly revealed to be sensitive, moral and considerate. He was decidedly attractive but not too handsome. This is a relatively subtle part of the fantasy fulfilment: too handsome is not attractive, therefore by not being too handsome Mr Darcy is actually maximally attractive.

Most importantly he sees the heroine particularly, he notices the almost unnoticeable ways that she is exceptional, and he loves her. Wealth, status, a sincere, attentive, lasting love and moral solidity—who wouldn't fall for this?

btw, just out of curiosity...does anybody here watch the sisters' show on SP? whatever happened!!!😲 just saw their TRPs have plummeted to ground zero almost.. when IPK was running, theirs was a notch higher than IPK even. Star Plus is not having a good time.. their replacement serials like Kaali and that goonda wali gujju serial which used to come at 7.30 are flops.. even khamoshiyan with so much hype is not great at all. their purana soldiers... saathiya and rishta are holding fort still... speaks volumes... the writing is clearly saying.. go back to the drawing board.. think afresh before it is too late.

hulloo indi di!! 🤗 been a long time we've been online together. i am total jobless too but nobody waits to be killed by me 😆... at home with grand plans of spring-cleaning the kitchen... haven't started yet. 🥱 sarada did me in earlier with her wanting the boy to play a top tough cop fighting terrorism. how well he would eh. sigh.

thought of you earlier.. when copy pasting an article link.. on Mr Darcy and alpha male.. it must be there in the previous page. interesting one and i of course kept thinking of the man.

Colors is having an exciting line up of serials ...that sanskar looks good and there is season 2 of bole tum and star plus needs to pull up its socks.. anil kapoor's indian version of 24 might also work big time for colors.

@sarada, very right. the old serials on top are on their last leg.. how long can they be rubberized! and the new ones are very unpromising.. arjun never worked in totality... it has always had low TRPs.. there is a major disconnect with it.. i cant place my finger on why. and lamp and wick... i have never figured out why it works so much with the TRP audience...yeah the screenplay is always pretty tight and they do have a story.. however painfully slowly they are telling it..but the leads cannot act! and they have no chemistry and the story walks a thin line between regressive thinking and drama. i would love to hear why you think it works.

there was a time i used to watch star plus continuously you know.. there used to be saathiya at 7 (it was gripping at one point), then 7.30 sasural genda phool (which was the best in its genre.. so natural) and then IPK and then there used to be a maharashtrian serial called Dor at 8.30.. about a strong woman with a drunkard husband and a witchy MIL... dunno if you guys remember.. it was also well done.

and now, i dont even switch it on.

Dor was okayish -- mother's character was good...

one serial that I loved in recent times apart from IPK was Sasuraal...was soo sad when it wrapped up -- Star really should feel the pain once when you close down the shows unexpectedly that audience loves...

am happy Jai is coming back -- like him --- and just hope they rope in Raagini wid him there -- then Colors would pull a big coup on SP...😆

But one more serial that I loved on SP recently had been Gulal -- it was strongly written, good set of acrors -- awesome costumes and sets !!!

it has been a while. tough cop giving heart trouble? let me add to it. on another thread we chatted madly about the man doing a super villain. out and out bad guy. i do so want to see him doing that too. hmmm, sigh.

will go read that alpha male article. i wonder at times, why i like these strange sorts. something the matter with me no doubt 🤣.

and forever and ever wanting to see him do michael corleone. cop, villain, mafia boss. obviously the girls are baying for action. 😆

@priya, oh yes Gulaal!! i had forgotten... that was a good one too but like IPK they hurried up its ending... maybe its 'nayi soch' of a much older woman marrying her devar didn't sit well with SP after all. 🤔

@indi di, of course... i remember discussing it too... he would make a great evil guy. we all like our men to retain something of the cave man in them.. hehehe not too much lest we run away...just little. 😛

Hi How is everyone??

So discussing previous shows are we???

I did not watch SP before IPK.

I did use to watch Star One.i was sad when Star One ended.I was a big fan of Miley Jab Hum Tum.I adored all of the characters and enjoyed most of the tracks.

Then MJHT ended and I waited for another show and ta da I got IPK.

Ironically I started watching IPK for Sanaya only and I fell in love with BS during the show.
