Hola basher buddies!

It seems like "bad" news is raining these days... From Ravi Shankar's death to CT shootings and now rape?

@Meher and Swathi: I do agree Italy and Greece are beautiful; place and people. We were in Greece and Turkey last summer and I was surprised, I liked Turkey better than Greece! People and place. Some people are anti-American in Turkey, so we had to pretend to be Indians at times; esp. In the grand bazaar in Istanbul.
I have to disagree on the French thing, though. I have some really nice friends from France. They are on the outside a little icy, but when you get to know them, they are quite nice. I have only been to Paris and I suppose people are more presumptuous there. But, theFrench outside of Paris are quitenice. Infact, we will be visiting some very good friends in Bordeaux and Nice next summer.
Btw, Kookie are you in Paris yet?

Woman are always blamed ..

there is a recent case in KSA.
A father killed his 17 years old daughter because she was caught with a 4 men, he killed her without knowing if it was rape or she went with them willingly.( I'm sure it was rape!)
I was reading the news and I read the readers comments .. I was shocked !
about 90% of the readers were justifying what the father did , saying that killing her better than bearing what people will said about her and her family. and some of them sympathies with father!
most of them didn't talk about the 4 adult men who exploited a teenager !!
Many societies encourage these psycho perverts !

THAT IS TRUTH..still ppl r balming girls for being raped...and it is honour killing...so pathetic...seems we r progressing but basic in dark age still..

I findhonor killings hardest to digest, because you are talking of killing your own blood! I can't imagine what father could do such a heinous thing to his own child! Honor killings have occured even in the US. It cuts across social, geographic and economic barriers.

I dont expect there to be no crime esp in big cities but at the same time I expect the cops and govt to be on my side. If thats not the case, if there is even a doubt of whos working with who...then I rather be informed, even if its through the OTT media reporting.

If that leads to more than needed freaking out on my part, then I will live with it. Beats getting gang raped.

But in this case it's not like the cops are not on the victim's side. No one from Delhi Police has ever issued any statement on what women should do or not do. I have worked with Delhi Police officers in non-profit initiatives in the past. The higher ranks are very sensitive to crimes against women and have taken many initiatives to try and make the city safer for women.

Of course they never get credit for anything and are the first to be hauled over coals if something goes wrong. I don't understand why what some SP of Haryana said is relevant to Delhi Police's effort to catch the criminals.

Bravo that you went for a protest match.👏

Where are the pankhis when you need them?
Why no spamming and protests now?

thanks arti😳 it was the least i could do we are also facing increased sexual harassment in a city supposed to be very modern and open and now also getting notorious for its eve teasers and other hooligan elements
oh the pankhis are safely enscounsed in some distant phoren city and this is below their dignity fighting for a womens respect and honor has never concerned them only spottings of Orange Crush or Tang is on their list and only hot men who dont give a rats ass over their existence matters not something like this and knowing their hideous mediavel mentality from my exp on IF over KKG they will say she deserved it
