Actress Sridevi's comeback film "English Vinglish" Thursday turned to be the biggest premiere of the year so far where the entire film fraternity came to cheer this diva who is appearing on the big screen after 15 years.

Actress Sridevi's comeback film "English Vinglish" Thursday turned to be the biggest premiere of the year so far where the entire film fraternity came to cheer this diva who is appearing on the big screen after 15 years.

Sridevi graced the premiere with her family including Boney Kapoor, daughter Jhanvi and Kushi.

Sridevi's 15-year-old daughter Jhanvi said: "I am so proud she is the coolest mom."

Among other celebrities and women actresses who came to cheer Sridevi were Tabu, Jaya Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Shilpa Shetty, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Kangna Ranaut, Tisca Chopra, Bipasha Basu, Ayesha Takia, Konkona Sen Sharma and Sonali Kulkarni.

Shilpa who seems to be a huge fan of Sridevi told reporters: "Sridevi is in her own league and we are nothing in front of her."

Madhuri came with her husband Sriram Nene. Madhuri was a rival of Sridevi in the 1980s.

Madhuri said: "I wish her all the best."

Besides the leading ladies, many actors and film makers came to support her and they included megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Ashutosh Gowariker, Ramesh Sippy, Sanjay Kapoor and Anees Baazmee.

Directed by Gauri Shinde and produced by R. Balki "English Vinglish" releases Oct 5.

Real-life crime cases have always inspired filmmakers and it seems Aamir Khan is bitten by the same bug too. The story of his upcoming film "Talaash" revolves around a murder and reportedly it bears resemblance to much-publicised Aarushi murder case.

Director Reema Kagti and producer Aamir, who also plays the lead in the film, have reportedly studied the way police in Delhi's suburb Noida handled the Aarushi murder case and then how CBI went on to re-investigate it.

Aarushi, 14, was found murdered at her parents' Noida residence May 16, 2008. The body of her domestic help Hemraj was found the next day on the terrace of the house. Her parents are accused of murdering both their daughter and the domestic help, and destroying evidence.

If sources are to be believed, the makers of the film had asked for newspaper reports on the challenging case, which continues to puzzle them.

They reportedly wanted to know why was Aarushi's case transferred to the CBI and what were the shortfalls in the police investigations.

However, when contacted, the film's spokesperson refused to comment on it.

The film, co-produced by Farhan Akhtar and Aamir, also features Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor. It releases Nov 30.

BTW, JZ / Vasu.. you guys. EV has gotten super awesome reviews from all the critics, mostly giving it 4/5 stars.

But the bad news is, that its collections are very poor just 15% for Friday!

I guess there are NO item songs and bimbo type heroines, so the audience isn't very keen on watching it. *sigh*

That is so cute!

Films like this always do poorly...mango people are more interested in glitz & glam and fast cars and bikinis...but I'm glad that the critics at least like it. Koi aur dekhe na dekhe, I will def watch it.

@Jzee: Nahin yaar...I'm gonna take a break of a few days before getting into Dexter season 2 I think...it weighs on me when I watch it at a stretch...like I need a few days gap to get into that mindset of sitting through the blood spatter and gore...and just the MIND of Dexter...lol...I'm not saying I haven't grown to like and empathize with the character...but on a base level I still feel this need to BRACE myself in a way before getting into watching it at a stretch.

Oh I forgot to mention I liked the La Guerta arc over the season too...her initial bitchiness gave way to more layers shown to her given how she dealt with her other colleagues...her ambitious nature, her fallacies, her regrets, her clashes with the Captain...to her dealing with her replacement...I grew to like La Guerta in her own way.

Also have to say that scene of Dexter fainting in the blood spattered hotel room was something...just to see Dexter that rattled was a first in the series and it stays with you...

Ooh, yeh, the La Geurta arc was an interesting treatment too. Like you go through the episodes, not entirely buying her change of heart for this replacement, but there's been that episode cleverly preceding this track where she showed genuine emotion for that boy who was found in that auto-shack where illegal immigrants were retained - and you can't really not trust her any more than you can - at least I only figured she wasn't a true sympathetic much belatedly. Not in the exact moment when it was revealed, and I couldn't say what exactly she was doing, but somewhere down the line I was sure she wasn't just being benign, like I didn't put manipulation past her! Of course the way she pulled it off was another whoaa side to her character, and the same moment you had to go, oh well... and shrug, because she had been introduced into the season as a woman of "politics" and someone who "knew the game" 😆

I like that actress quite a lot - she does a great job with her role - actually like you said, the office staff itself. Masuka is HILARIOUS in the most passing of moments 😆 You can't even feel grossed out by his perpetual explicit "jokes" he does it in such a matter of fact way 😆 and then he's so genuinely puzzled by why he put people off so much 😆 In very random ways he reminded me of Wolowitz from TBBT 😆

And Angel is a darling, there is a dialogue he has with Dex which I think was season 2 and not season 1 - oh yeh, definitely season 2 - which was such a nice and warm exchange =))) Specially because Dex himself in that bit is being genuine in all his predicament making that comment - but shush shush, I don't want to drop any spoilers... it's just one of my much liked "interaction" scenes.

And Doakes!!! Oh wait until you get to season 2!!! The track just takes on! Again, shush me, no spoilers!

@being a fan of Deb 😆 I sort of expected that reaction from you I think, might have even been subconsciously intentional to say it 😆 So when I say "fan" I don't mean, oh I heart her character - she's wayyy ... well, obnoxious, maybe?! 😆 I just find her character an overall very interesting possibility at every point of the show. And despite the loud and primary impression that she casts which can cloud all else, I think her character acquires layers. And her equation with Dex is one of my favorite part of the show in general - continuing and rising in season 2 although I obviously can't say much for beyond that. Of course, the fact the whole premise of Dex's true revelation has so much to do with Deb's reaction to it - speculating the why and what and how of it - makes her quite prime to the story too. Her "love life matters" on the other hand for all their annoying presence, are I think fated to be a mess at large, but that's part of who she is, who she has become from her history (also more revealed in coming episodes) - unlike, say, the way girl matters in Mike's life just become purposeless in Suits after a while.

On another note, I asked a nerdy friend of mine to look at the cryptic error on the Colors videos and he did something - I think to do with cookies or whatever - and they work for me now, so I already recorded 3 and they are uploading to YT now (these are the ones with Kunal, Ashnoor-Shivank, and Dushyant) And then my brand new batteries ran out too 😳 I should just buy new rechargables without being lazy, the simple AA stuff never works for like more than 20 minutes!!!

Khairrr... the Nanhi Addu byte was cho cho cho cute!!! 😆 Like it started off being a little typical, Ashnoor being a little quiet and only saying she'd miss it all - but then obviously, give Ashnoor a mike and she HAS to roll with it, sooner than later 😆 and she's such a natural at being this bossy little girl!!! Man!!! She's Hermoine in SO MANY ways, from like first year, except she's NOT snobby, and she's NOT grumpy at all!!! Adorable kid she is 🤗 And that new Addu wala kid 😆 the way he kept "ditto-ing" Ashnoor, was SO KUNAL like!!! Actually I should say, so boy!!! 😆 Fundoo byte this one was! I think Ashnoor gets along even better with this kid, at least it seemed in the byte!

You know the way she was talking about how the routine will all change and she'd miss it - just out of the blue reminded me of these last couple months of the year back in school, when you'd be prepping for christmas annual events, functions, plays, and all those things and there was so much jing bang and chaos that was just AWESOME stuff and suddenly when it was all over after the event, it was like ... this gap... until you got back to the normal groove... Shooting for shows has gotta be like that for these kids - except at much elevated levels of awareness and fandom! Oh on that note, Ashnoor saying she wants to be rich and get Ms. Universe awards for this show 🤣 🤗 She's SUCH a girl!!! 😆

And I LOVED Dushyant's segment - that bit where he mentioned getting a call from Kunal and then going over to his place because... it just feels lonely... aww! This show has had SUCH a tremendously heartfelt and genuine cast... everyone talks of missing and being a family and stuff, but for those initial months of watching them, you know they haven't just been part of a "show" - they've actually mentally transformed into those characters for all those hours every day, been living NBT like this parallel real life! And because SO MUCH of the onscreen euqation, originally, was so natural from how they really were, wearing the characters like a second skin has been so spontaneous for them... the letting go has to be... a hit!

Khair. Kunal's own segment was pretty much stuff we've heard through interview segments (written) in general, and I wanted to record the last day farewell bash next, but my batteries died out, so that one tomorrow, and then there's the Ak byte...
